Item comparisons (to know how much dps this new badge item will grant to you, how many dkp you should bid on this newly dropped raid loot, etc).

Item V.S. Limiting the scope of the comparison only to the two items themselves will produce highly inaccurate results (as a consequence of passing the hit cap, breaking a tier set bonus etc)

Thus, RhadaTip supports the hit cap and tier set bonuses.

One-button-optimizer for the whole gear. Clicking this button, RhadaTip will scan your equipped items plus all the items in your bags, compute which combination will result in the highest gear xPS value, and equip it.

The comparison between items and setups can go n items ahead of your current gear, up to the best in slot configuration if you want, by using the combination of RhadaTip and WoWEquip.

This is extremely useful. An item that is a small dps gain at the moment, might be a good dps gain (or a dps loss, for that matter) after having changed another item. As an example, an item drops (ie. a new pair of bracers). It is a small dps gain for you at the moment. You are only two emblems away from getting a new pair of legs. Before passing or bidding dkp, you might be interested in knowing what kind of dps gain those bracers would net to you also factoring in the new pair of leggings that you are about to get. Using RhadaTip and WoWEquip, that is possible.

This is also much more useful for the average raider than a simple BiS list. The best in slot list is actually quite useless considering that those items are only the highest dps items when you combine them all together, and less than 0.00001% of the raiders will ever get them before the next tier is released.

Easy, on the fly comparisons between your full gear set and that one of other players.

RhadaTip links your current setups to your currently active talent tree. Swapping the active talent tree will automatically swap all values within RhadaTip. This (for example) means no overhead for a RhadaTip user changing from restoration to balance before a raid.

RhadaTip comes with a gem optimizer. The gem optimizer's use is twofold.

On the left handside it shows the best gem of each colour, based on your currently set scaling values.

On the right handide, it will compute for you the optimal gemming of any item, be it an item that you already own (and therefore might be already gemmed), or an item that you don't already own. It will also show what gain you will get by regemming, so that you can better evaluate if it is worth going for it.

It comes with a collection of pre defined scaling values accessible by the /rt pv slash command. These values are mostly taken from SimulationCraft for maximum reliability and actuality.

When you log in with RhadaTip for the first time, it will compare your talents against those of the pre-set scaling values, and automatically load a template if there is a match.

By using RhadaTip in combo with Auc-Searcher-RhadaTip, you can easily scan the auction house to find upgrades for you.

How does it work?
To make the "xPS gain = n" show meaningful numbers, type /rt sv to open the input frame. Type in your scaling values. Once you have saved them with the button, they will be saved for future game sessions.
If you don't have your scaling values, use /rt pv and select the closest set of scaling values to you (based on your gear level and talents).
If you have spent your talent in a way that matches one of the RhadaTip saved templates, the scaling values will be automatically set (but I still suggest to review them).
To make the "Total gear xPS = n" show even more meaningful numbers, type /rt hc to open the input frame. Type in your desired hit percentage that you want to achieve from gear only. As an example, if your hit cap versus a boss is at 17% hit, and you plan to receive +4% hit from raid buffs or racials, you have to put 13 in this frame (mind not putting the % symbol in here too). Here you can also set a "some casting time" value used to compute trinket procs, and the default filling gems for each empty socket bonus. Once you have saved them with the button, it will be saved for future game sessions.
Where to get your correct scaling values? I'd suggest that you run your own SimulationCraft, if you really can't, you will probably be able to find them on some failjerks webside.

I'm still not sure on how to make it work, nor I really understand what I can do with it...
The following is a list of videos that I've recorded and uploaded on youtube:

RhadaTip first login.

How to configure the hit cap, the default gem fillers for each socket colour, the average casting time, and more.

Item V.S. It will also be at least 35% faster in computing the best gear combination. It will make a workaround to the issue with Autobar possible, so the two mods will finally be able to work together.
- All addon compatibility issues have been worked around, therefore there is no more incompatibility with Autobar or Outfitter.
- The expertise cap is finally in, enabling melee to achieve the same accuracy that only casters could get until now.
- You can now choose a minimum itemLevel value in the Gear Optimizer tab. All items in your bags below this itemLevel will be skipped by the gear optimizer. This means that you can now fire it with fishing poles, mining picks and lvl 70 items in your bags, without having them slowing it down significantly.
- The gear optimizer will properly work if the best solution has 2x of the same One-Handed weapons as the weapons of choice.
- Added all left out Trial of the Crusade Trinkets, Darkmoon Card: Greatness, and Battlemaster Ruination.
- Fixed the Sundial of the Exiled proc chance.
- Fixed the tier9 localized names.
- The gear optimizer will print out the items needed to achieve the best gear possible, in case there is some problem with their auto-equipment (Binds when Equipped items, too many Dragon's Eyes).
- Fixed an offhand evaluation bug.
- (3.0.0b) Fixed a few non-enUS parsing mistakes with most of the locales.
- (3.0.0b) Added the zhTW locale.

What other commands are there?
Quite a few. You can access the complete list of available options by typing /rt in game. In here, I'll only spend a couple words on the following:
/rt sv -> Opens up the scaling values' input frame.
/rt hc -> Opens up the frame with useful functionalities like the hit cap, the average casting time, the auto filling gems, turn on/off the WoWEquip support etc.
/rt og -> Opens up the Gem Optimizer frame.
/rt ogear -> Opens up the Gear Optimizer frame.
/rt pv -> Opens up the frame containing pre-set values for different specs and gear levels.

What assumptions does the mod make?
- If the item diplayed in your tooltip has an empty socket slot, and you haven't picked up a default filling gem for that socket colour, the mod assumes that it is filled with a 19 spellpower fictitious gem. This gem will not count toward activating the socketbonus.
- The hit cap is only taken into account when computing the "total gear dps = n" line, it is not taken into account when computing the "dps gain = n", as the scope of this latter line is local to the two compared items only.
- Enchantments and prismatic sockets are ignored and in no way contribute to the xPS gains.
- Trinkets like Illustration of the Dragon Soul are modeled as static gains. Keeping the stacks up is generally possible, and most classes can even stack the charges up before pulling.
- The tooltip will read "DPS gain" if you have 81 or more hit rating, otherwise it will read "HPS gain". This is just the tooltip wording, so if you are leveling up a dk and have less than 80 hit rating, don't be scared, you are still seeing dps values.
- The hit cap is considered an hard cap. After the cap, all the hit rating is worth nothing. If you have a soft hit cap, just change the hit scaling value once you are past it.
- The Avg Casting Time field in /rt hc is TIMEPERIOD (say 60 seconds) / NUMBER OF CASTS (that can proc trinkets).
- Clicking a pre-set value button will only save scaling values, you will still have to configure the /rt hc frame for accurate values.
- There are always two available slash commands for RhadaTip. One is /RhadaTip, the other is either /rt or /rtip, based on whether you have RaidTracker loaded or not.

What doesn't work in 3.0.0?
There is no known bug yet.

Which classes does it support?
It was developed with warlocks in mind, but it should work out fine for every dps and healing class.

What other mods does it support?
The mod is fully compatible (and the usege of the following mods is strongly recommended) with WoWEquip, EquipCompare, AtlasLoot and Auc-Searcher-RhadaTip.

What is the difference between this mod and RatingBuster?
This mod has xPS in its mind. RatingBuster is used to convert ratings into percentages, and to obtain a breakdown of the sum of all the stats on the tooltipped item. In no way it delivers actual xPS informations. Thus, none of the key features of RhadaTip listed in these f.a.q. is present in RatingBuster.

What is the difference between this mod and Pawn?
Taken from the answers to the question "What does RhadaTip do" at the beginning of this f.a.q., the following RhadaTip features aren't found (or are radically different) in Pawn:

1.2 (Trinkets)

2 (Full gear evaluation...)

2.1 (... leading to always accurate comparisons)

2.2 (Tier set bonuses and hit cap)

3 (the 1-click gear optimizer)

4, 4.1 and 4.2 (the ability to go n items ahead of your current gear, to compare not just two items but n items, etc)

4.3 (compare your gear to that of other playes)

5 (support to dual specs)

6, 6.1 and 6.2 (the gem optimizer)

7, 7.1 (pre-set scaling values and auto-loading of the best scaling value template on login)

What is coming up next?
- Due to the major rewriting of the code and the implementation of something as tricky as the expertise cap, I've labeled 3.0.0 as beta for now. In a week I'll upgrade it to release, and if no bugs show up, the next update will be coming out with 3.3, to add new trinkets and tier sets.
- Tank support ?
- Asian localization ?

How can I contribute?
- Help me with pre-saved scaling values, especially for the healing classes/specs.
- Test the localizations.
- Help me with a couple trinket models.

Compatibility issues.
There are no known compatibility issues at the moment.

Special Thanks to...
I'd like to thank:
Gotai of <Order of the Turtle>, The Sha'tar EU, for his support and patience in helping me overcome some difficulties.
Dedmonwakeen of <Wicked Legion>, Llane US, for helping me solve the melee weapon issue.
Mephaïste of <Les Larmes de Mathystra>, Throk'Feroth EU, for making the frFR locale a reality.
Nightdragon (forum user), for helping me fix the deDE localization.
Xinhuan, for making the interaction between RhadaTip and WoWEquip possible.
StingerSoft, for localizing the mod in Russian.
Troffel of <Ein Herz für Hühnchen>, Der Rat von Dalaran EU, for helping me to optimize the Gear Optimization tool.
Barfolomeu and Vhaarr for the incredible help in optimizing the performances of the code.

Mon, 23 Nov 2009 23:05:23 +0000 http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/rhadatip-dps-tooltip/ http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/rhadatip-dps-tooltip/ no-reply@curseforge.com () DPSTime http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/dpstime/

Table of contents

1 Cast Time Improvement
2 Cast Bar Improvement
3 Cast Rotation Tips

3.1 Fire Mage
3.2 Fire Mage
3.3 Destruction Warlock
3.4 Shadow Priest
3.5 Elemental Shaman

This add-on is designed to help players improve DPS, currently it goes about this in 3 ways.

Cast Time Improvement

If you look at why people are lagging behind on worldoflogs, it is usually because their not using all time available to DPS. Waiting for the cast bar to finish before starting another cast can be 1 second your not DPSing. Ensuring chain-casting is a bigger upgrade to dps than a higher Tier of gear - think of it as having a permanent free Heroism. Spells can be queued by clicking the next spell early, which will leave 0 gap between casts.

This add-on monitors the time between finishing one cast and starting another, providing this feedback to the user so that they can reduce this lost dps time. It's aim is to help improve this ABC - always be casting. It currently rates the gap as follows, with a summary at the end of combat.

0-49 millisecond gap - Green for Good!

50-19*9 millisecond gap - Blue for Okayish.

200> millisecond - Red for improvement needed

If you see red, try to queue up your spells quicker.

Timing between casts is on the client, so it's currently a best-effort-guestimate, the code will try to take into account lag to even things out.

Cast Bar Improvement

This is a follow on from 'Cast Time' improvement. The above can inform the player that they need to queue up a cast quicker. This improvement makes the Cast Bar complete quicker (based on the above feedback) to encourage clicking/keypressing earlier. Only works with the Standard Blizzard Cast Bar at the moment.

Cast Rotation Tips

The 'DPSTime' frame gives a visual hint of what the next spell to queue up should be. For enhancement shamans (and soon for ele/resto also) it provides additional timers displaying the cooldown of the most important spells and the number of Maelstrom Weapon stacks. TT supports ButtonFacade and rActionButtonStyler for customizing its appearance.

Localization

A big thanks to all who kept the localization of TT up-to-date. To make that easier I switched to the localization system at CurseForge. There you can find and edit missing entries more easily and you don't have to upload files anymore.

Manual

In TT the four totem timer buttons are referred to as Timers, the timer buttons for Reincarnation, shields and weapons are referred to as Trackers. The three "Call of ..." spell are referred to as multicast spells.

Hovering over a timer button opens a flyout menu containing buttons for all totems for that timer's element. Leftclicking a button casts that totem, rightclicking assigns that totem to the active multicast spell and to the timer button; leftclicking the timer button will then cast this totem. The assigned totem is displayed as a small icon (referred to as mini icon) in the lower right corner of the timer button. The last button of each flyout menu serves to delete a totem from the active multicast spell.

The multicast spell button works similar: Leftclicking a spell in the flyout menu cast the multicast spell; rightclicking selects it as the active spell, assigns it to the multicast button and updates the four timer buttons accordingly.

The weapon buff tracker also has a flyout menu: Leftclicking will cast a spell; rightclicking assigns it as the leftclick spell to the tracker button; shift-rightclicking assigns it as the rightclick spell to the tracker button (TT 10.1). The flyout menu contains two spell combos for enhancement shamans that can be assigned to the tracker button as leftclick only (by rightclick). Then the first leftclick on the tracker button casts Windfury Weapon, the second leftclick casts either Flametongue or Frostbrand.

Additional Totem Sets (TT 10.1)

The reincarnation tracker serves as an anchor for up to 8 additional totem sets. Rightclicking the ankh tracker saves the configuration of the active multicast spell. Leftclicking the ankh tracker opens a menu with all totem sets, each menu button displays four icons containing its saved totems. Leftclicking a menu buttons loads that set to the active multicast spell, overwriting the active totem configuration. Rightclicking a menu buttons deletes its set.

Additional totem dependant cast buttons

In TT 10.1 for each totem timer button 2 additional smaller cast buttons are introduced. Initially hidden they can be configured to show additional totems, which are then available to cast without opening a totem menu. The totem spell which they contain is always dependant on the active totem assigned to the multicast spell and totem timer button (and can/has to be configured for each totem). For each totem in the game two spells can be assigned as additional casts (options gui -> Totems -> Cast Button 1 and Cast Button 2). If a totem is then assigned to its timer button or the active multicast spell is changed, the two cast buttons change to the two spells assigned for that totem.

A possible configuration could be: The current assigned totem for the water timer button is Mana Spring Totem. The additional buttons show Mana Tide Totem and Cleansing Totem. The player changes the active multicast spell to Healing Stream Totem. In his configuration the cast buttons now change to Mana Spring Totem and Mana Tide Totem.
Mon, 23 Nov 2009 20:45:23 +0000 http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/totemtimers/ http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/totemtimers/ no-reply@curseforge.com () SquidChat http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/squidchat/
This is an addon that lets you customize your chat window, it is made for a one window chat window not 2 or 3 windows. There is no way for an AddOn to stop the completed message being sent to your raid. In most raids, people will be too busy being excited or organising loot after a boss is killed to even realise you didn't have the achievement. If they do realise, then that's the time you need to think of something clever to say!

How does UnderAchiever fake links?

An achievement link is just some text which is read differently by your WoW client. When you send an achievement link in a message, WoW puts your data for that achievement in the special link text. Any player could get carried/boosted through a raid or dungeon and end up with a completed achievement they can link, but it doesn't mean they know the tactics or how to play their class well. If you also look at the opposite scenario, a player who doesn't have the achievement may be able to get into the top 3 DPS in a PuG, but just because they don't have the achievement they can't get into the raid (meaning they can never get the achievement!)
Mon, 23 Nov 2009 17:11:13 +0000 http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/underachiever/ http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/underachiever/ no-reply@curseforge.com () CustomAchievements http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/customachievements/

Table of contents

1 Description only valid for v3.1 r2 and below (v3.3 description coming soon)
2 CustomAchievements v3.1 API

2.1 CA:AddCategory(name [, parent])

2.1.1 Returns
2.1.2 Arguments

2.2 CA:AddAchievement(tbl)

2.2.1 Returns
2.2.2 Arguments

2.3 CA:AddAchievement(achievement, category)

2.3.1 Returns
2.3.2 Arguments

3 How to include CustomAchievements in a library or addon

3.1 Files
3.2 Code
3.3 Instructions

4 Example
5 Advanced

5.1 Achievement data
5.2 Handler

5.2.1 Achievement Arguements
5.2.2 Criteria Arguements
5.2.3 Tracking Arguements

5.3 CA_ACHIEVEMENT_EARNED

5.3.1 Event Arguements

Description only valid for v3.1 r2 and below (v3.3 description coming soon)

This AddOn library is still very new. Tracker http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/cc-tracker/
CC tracker for both PvE and PvP, tracks the basics timers like Shackle, Fears, Roots, Hibernate, Polymorphs, Banish, Sap and so on.

Uses two methods of getting timers, one is through debuffs (These are accurate timers) and the other is through the combat log which is a guesstimate using what we know about the spellID and DR, guesstimate timers won't account for talents like Shamans Toughness.

Like the last version, this will sync timers with others if you enable it, you can also enable a silent mode which will only do syncing and show no timer bars for those who have team mates who harass you to install this.
Mon, 23 Nov 2009 14:39:01 +0000 http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/cc-tracker/ http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/cc-tracker/ no-reply@curseforge.com () DR Tracker http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/dr-tracker/
Shows time left until diminishing returns on enemy/friendly/yourself, as well as how far the spell is diminished. Shows the next diminish, so for example when a Cyclone first fades from a player it'll show 50%, once the 2nd one is casted within 15 seconds of the first one fading it'll show 25%.

You can now track enemy, friendly and your own diminishing returns (and filter which of each you want to see), including on NPCs.

Essentially how the different tracking categories work:

Enemies: You cast fear on the enemy and an entry appears under DR (When the fear ends of course). A symbol representing the type of DR will appear along with the enemy name with a 50% (cause it was the first fear), and a timer. They replace the default Player, Pet, Target, Target of Target, Party, and Party Pet frames and add dedicated frames for many other units (Focus, Focus Target, Party Target, Target of Target of Target). It has been a high priority to maintain the look and feel or the original Perl mods while expanding functionality. The mod has been recoded for performance and is built around the Blizzard UI usage of events.

Slash Commands
--------------
/perl

Known Issues
------------
None!

Todo
------
Optimize code

Q&A
-----
Q: I'm seeing double party buffs for some reason, what gives?
A: 99% of the time this is caused by CT_PartyBuffs. Simply remove the mod and you will return to having one set of party buffs.

Q: I am having massive dead spots for clicking on some of the unit frames, what's wrong?
A: This can be caused by a number of mods, but the most common seems to be CT_MovableParty. Please remove this mod as Perl can be moved without the use of this mod.

Q: The default party frames are showing up with red lightning bolts. What's going on?
A: As of version 1.503 of CT_RaidAssist this should no longer be caused by CTRA. The settings for this are now located in the WoW settings under Interface Options -> Basic -> Raid -> Hide Party Interface.

Q: Do you support ArcaneBar?
A: Yes, it is included in your download of Perl Classic.

Q: Will you be adding any features to Perl_PlayerBuff?
A: No, my coding for this mod goes as far as making sure it 'works.' If anyone would like to expand upon it, feel free to do so.

Q: Where are the raid frames?
A: As of 2.0 I no longer code raid frames for Perl Classic. Luckily, X-Perl's raid frames work great alongside Perl Classic. X-Perl's raid frames (and the unit frames themselves) can be found here: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3416/

Q: The scaling is all messed up! What do i do?
A: I recommend setting the scale to that of the UI if you are having issues. Open the options menu via "/perl" or the Black Pearl icon on the minimap and set the scale accordingly under the "All" tab.

Q: I am having an issue not listed in this FAQ, what can I do?
A: First, update *every* mod. I do not support ancient outdated and unmaintained mods. If you have double checked that everything is up to date, post on any of the Perl Classic mod pages and I'll be glad to help you narrow down the issue or give suggestions to help find a solution.

Q: Can you add this feature?
A: I'm sure it's possible, but the primary purpose of this mod is to 'modernize' the original Perl mod so that it doesn't slow your game down.

Dependency Notes
----------------
Mods that Perl Classic will take advantage of:
Clique - http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=5108
Druid Bar - http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/129/
IFrameManager - http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=4865
MobHealth2 - http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/793/
MobHealth3 - http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3619/
myAddOns - http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/207/

Mods that take advantage of Perl Classic:
BeneCaster - http://wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=3606
Mon, 23 Nov 2009 06:00:38 +0000 http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/perl-classic-unit-frames/ http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/perl-classic-unit-frames/ no-reply@curseforge.com ()
