Cascade

Cascade is a Compact Combat Log Addon intended to show combat log events pertinent to you! Events are displayed in a compact format, giving you just the information you need. Events are separated based upon whether or not the player is the source or the destination.

Cascade was based on EavesDrop by Grayhoof. Original concept by Bant.

Events

  • Player Damage, Healing, and Power Gains/Losses
  • Pet Damage and Healing
  • Vehicle Damage and Healing
  • Aura Gains and Fades
  • Incoming/Outgoing Dispels and Interrupts
  • Experience, Honor, Reputation, and Skill-ups
  • Deaths and Killing Blows
  • Entering/Leaving Combat

Features

  • Link Events: Shift clicking any event will insert that event with full combat log text into your chat frame's edit box.
  • More Linking Options: Right click any event to link the spell (if available) and a clean version of the event (without overkill/overhealing)
  • Combat Summary: One line summary to show incoming/outgoing healing and damage.
  • History Tracking: Track large hit/crit damaging attacks and spells as well as heals.
  • Spam Control: Filter events based on the amount of Damage/Healing/Power as well as the spell's name or spell id.
  • Aura Filters: Filter which aura events are displayed based upon who originally cast the aura.

Advanced Options

Some options can't be set using the GUI. be sure to check the Advanced Options page for more details.

Changes needed to fix addon for 4.0.1:

    In CascadeOptions.lua find:

       GetSpellName

    replace with:

        GetSpellBookItemName

In CascadeCore.lua find all occurrences of:

        timestamp, event, sourceGUID

    replace all occurrences with:

        timestamp, event, hideCaster, sourceGUID

    @slickwalker:
Cascade loads with Blizzard_CombatLog, so it's always going to be one of the last addons to finish loading. If you're going to use an addon like !Warmup, you need to know how to interpret what it's telling you.

Alright, this thing has climbed up to a 12 second load time. Any ideas, known conflicts, anything?

I'm using !Warmup to 'trim the fat' of some of my addons. This is taking consistently 6 seconds to load on startup. Any ideas?

@shmeek: Focus or Target log is out of the scope of the addon. If you still wish to have this behaviour, you can edit the code to do so.

At approximately line 423 in CascadeCore.lua, find the following code:

-- Check if the player, a pet, or vehicle is involved.
    local playerOut = CombatLog_Object_IsA(sourceFlags, COMBATLOG_FILTER_MINE)
    local playerIn = CombatLog_Object_IsA(destFlags, COMBATLOG_FILTER_MINE)
    local petOut = CombatLog_Object_IsA(sourceFlags, COMBATLOG_FILTER_MY_PET)
    local petIn = CombatLog_Object_IsA(destFlags, COMBATLOG_FILTER_MY_PET)

    And replace with the following:

-- Check if the player, a pet, or vehicle is involved.
    local playerOut = bit_band(sourceFlags, 0x20000) > 0
    local playerIn = bit_band(destFlags, 0x20000) > 0
    local petOut, petIn

This will enable Cascade to show events relating to focus. To show events relating to your target, simply change 0x20000 to 0x10000 in the two above instances.

    Turkleton,

Thanks for this excellent addon. Can this addon be modified to show my focus or target log information?

Basically, what I want to do is watch how other players use all of their abilities in an effort to learn from them how to improve my play.

In theory, I would go into the Cascade addon options, select "Me, Focus or Target" from the options pulldown, and the log on screen would adjust to show my selections.

Perhaps a way to change this option on the onscreen log itself would be doable?

Obviously I am not a coder, nor do I know if this is even possible, but thought I would make a request anyway,

    Thanks for your time,

    Vannan, Skullcrusher Jay

Bug should be fixed in the latest push. Thanks, tuemmykids and Vilkku!

It seems to disappear after reloads if the option "Show Labels" is not checked. If it is enabled, it will work even after reloads. So at the moment to get it to show again, we need to manually go into the options, enable the labels and disable them again to make the frame show up.

At least that's how it is on my end!
