What steps will reproduce the problem?

Changes to certain preferences do not consistently take effect. I specifically observed problems with toggling "Grow Upwards", and disabling the Pulse and Announce panels. Additionally, the Fade Time setting, whether set generically for the entire group, or on a specific spell, appears to be ignored entirely.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect the preferences I set to be used :)  Eventually, by opening the settings and tweaking them repeatedly, all of the settings (except Fade Time) have taken effect, but I am not certain what caused them to finally take hold.
