Crowd Silencer
This small patch silences the cheers heard during the Argent Tournament event in Icecrown.
Instructions
- Extract the downloaded zip file
- Place the "Spells" folder into /World of Warcraft/Data/Sound/
If the Sound folder doesn't exist, create it.
And if the Spells folder already exists, copy the downloded .wav files direcly into the existing Spells folder. - Restart WoW if you have it open.
- Enjoy the silence!
How it Works
Normally World of Warcraft uses the data in the .MPQ files for the game.
However, if a file with the same name is found in the Data folder, WoW will use it instead. In this case WoW uses our empty sound file instead of the normal crowd sounds.
These files are limited to sounds and UI graphics.
Is this Legal?
Absolutely. Blizzard designed some parts of the game to be customizable. Sound and UI graphic files can be replaced and modified how the player likes.
Will this affect other players?
No, This is a client side modification only. This does not change how other players hear the in-game sounds. Only you will hear it differently.
Donations
I'm saving up money to replace my Power Mac G4 with a new gaming computer.
Please feel free to donate any amount if you would like.
