Damaging is very simple mod to give you a draggable (and lockable) box to show your current damage modifier, created specifically to aid hunters in reapplying Serpent Sting at the most optimal time.

Many talents and raid buffs give you extra percent damage, as well as hunter 2 piece T10. With this addon, the player will know when the maximum enhanced damage is reached. Assuming a full raid composition, talents, and 2 piece T10:

  • Arcane Empowerment/FI: 3%
  • Focused Fire: 2%
  • Culling the Herd: 3%
  • 2p10: 15%

Your usual maximum will be 123%. Note that this does not take into account things like Luck of the Draw (+5% damage while using Looking for Dungeon) and other things of that nature. Note also it does not take into account the target taking more damage from all sources. This is only tracking the percent shown your character screen.

When your extra damage is 115% or over, the box turns red and the text turns black. When it is between 115% and 60%, the box is black with white text. When it is 60% or lower, the box is black with blue text.

Finally, please understand this is the first addon I have written in 3 years. It is simple and it "gets the job done". It's not very pretty and not very fleshed out yet. I plan to expand this as needs arise, but for now, it is more of a personal thing for my guild hunters and I to use, but I welcome everyone else to try it and provide feedback.

Commands:

/dmg hide - Hides the box /dmg show - Shows the box /dmg lock - Toggles locking the box

Note that there are rounding errors. The reason is, sometimes there aren't flat %'s given. For instance, Focused Fire actually makes your damage 101.99999809265%. When COTH procs, it will show 106%, but it's 105.05999326706% in reality. I chose to round all the numbers up instead of down.
