Quick Overview: Main GoH Window:
If there are any tabs for any of the windows, they will pop up on the right side. On the left side of the window is a Blood Vial to set your default Blizzard Blood Level. If you have BloodSplatter installed, you'll also get a Blood Gauge connected to the Vial.
At the top left is a Mortal Kombat symbol, at the bottom right is a GoH Options Button, both do the same and bring you into the GoH Options menu.
Along the bottom of the window are Class Icons. Each one is a button for the Class Menus.
Below the Class Icons, next to the GoH Option button are four minimap type icons. These are short cuts to open respective menus for those addons (if those addons are installed). The first is Deadly Boss Mod, second is Recount, third is Decursive, last is Omen.
At the top left, next to the Mortal Kombat icon is a VU meter. It has 3 VU levels, default is the first. If you have the second on, then sounds are doubled. If you have the third, sounds are trippled in volume unless you have sound effects off. If you have sound effects turned off, you can turn on the third VU level as it will play through the Master channel.
Next to the VU meter are some tick boxes. They are Use /say, Use /yell, Use /me, and Private Solo Mode. These options are PER CHARACTER, so one of your toons may have it on whilst another has it off. These are pretty much the only per character settings whilst the rest are global. The first three /use options, say yell and me should be fairly obvious. If anything is going to be announced, it will be announced via the chosen setting. The last option, Private Solo Mode works differently. If you have it ticked and you are not in a group, then your announcements will be private and to yourself, but as soon as you do join a group or raid, this setting becomes invalid and it will default to what other setting you have chosen (say yell me).
Next to the Private Solo Mode tickbox and under the Close button is a Gender Icon. You can tick it to change your gender. If you are female and want GoH to announce as a Male, click this option. If you are Male and want GoH to announce as a Female, tick this option.
The above information should cover the standard over view of the main GoH Window. The contents within the main frame and how many tabs appear to the right depends on how many options there are on what you have entered. Meaning, if you entered the Rogue Class menu and there is only a couple of options at the moment, then you'll get no tabs. Or if you enter the GoH Options, you will note that you currently have four tabs of options to your right. These are called, Page Tabs, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc when we talk about them in game, on the chat, in forums or in these write ups to make it easier to refer to. So as mentioned, these changed based on what menu you are going in to. I haven't discussed the options within the menus yet, all I have spoken about are the options which are normally shown on every window (the things that surround the inside menu part and are a constant through-out.
At the bottom left there is a default button. This will restore all settings to default settings.
I hope the above explains a little more on how this menu works. I'll do write ups for the other options at a later time when things are a little more completed.
At the very top right, above the close button, there is a Debugging option. You can use this to trace events and try to get the right information so I can add other options. Another way is to use Blizzards in-built event tracker. /eventtrace or /etrace.
You should note the things I spoke about above in the image below.
