Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:
- Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
- Contain a relatively minimal feature set
- Be easy to use
- Be stable
It includes the following features:
- 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
- Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
- Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show.
- Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
- The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
- Full button facade support
- Keybound support
- Sticky frames
- The ability to move buttons in combat
- A movable casting bar (optional)
- A movable roll frame (optional)
- A movable xp/reputation bar (optional)
- Configurable right click targeting
- Configurable self cast key settings
- Possess bar support
...and will probably not end up with the following:
- A stats bar
- A minimap bar
- True variable length bars
Here's how you use it:
- To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
- To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
- To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
- To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.
...and this is why I wrote it:
- I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
- I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
- I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.
- RedRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
- OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
- ButtonFacade - Allows you to change the look of the action, pet, and class buttons
- Inline Aura - Adds buff and debuff highlighting to action buttons

wattamack Fri, 19 Sep 2008 17:11:30I simply don't get this addon, how do I set it up to work for my rogue. Whatever I do it just don't work. Do I have to have 2 bars only for stealth mode and then hide them to get it working. If so, it sucks. PLS HALP.

Fantasy08 Thu, 18 Sep 2008 05:28:50Oops!
My apologies Tuller. I've been having next to no sleep this week, and I guess it's resulting in more silly mistakes on my part than I thought. I'll go use the previous version then.
Very sorry for all that.

Tuller Wed, 17 Sep 2008 21:56:17@Fantasy08: You may want to check the tickets labled "closed" :P http://wow.curseforge.com/projects/dominos/tickets/22-cant-get-it-to-work/
@HokieDood: The autofade stuff only works when the options menu is closed. I know its a stupid thing, but yeah :P

Fantasy08 Wed, 17 Sep 2008 16:40:46First of all, I've always loved using bongos and greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into making these charming addons for the rest of us to use.
As such, I was rather dissapointed to notice that my reported ticket just got 'lost'. I would really like to see dominos working for me, but it doesn't. I presumed that you might wish to know about this and thus went through the trouble of registrating and posting the bug report and all that lovely little nonsense.
Now, if something went wrong with the site or database that caused my ticket to go up in thin smoke, do let me know and I'll remove bongos3 again, reinstall dominos, and repost the bug report again. If not... well, I guess I'll have my answer then and go look for something else to replace bongos3 with.
I would greatly prefer getting dominos to work for me, though, seeing as how it sounds rather lovely. As such, I really hope this is all just a mistake, and a fixable one at that.
PS: My friend ran into the exact same problem while trying to get it to work (and yes, we both used the beta version and have similair addons) so I'm not an isolated case either.
With regards,
Fantasy

HokieDood Wed, 17 Sep 2008 03:26:33So I set the fader opacity to 0 and it should when mousedover go back to 100% no? When I set the fader opacity to 0 it just keeps it hidden as opposed to fading back in. I can still click and mouseover the buttons, they're just not visible. Please help!

dfscott Fri, 12 Sep 2008 15:04:37@thetattoo - in configuration mode, middle-click toggles bar show/hide. If you have bars 2 and 3 hidden, they will still work when you toggle to them. (that's how I have my shadowform bar set)
@earthtapper - I had a lot of trouble with this myself due to all the various things a (shadow)priest has. And to complicate matters, I've reset the number of buttons/bar to 15. But I finally got it all working. FWIW, here's my setup: I have bars 1 and 2 on a manual toggle (so I can change between heal and smite when not in shadowform), then bar 7 is my automatic shadowform bar. Bar 3 is another "always on" bar that doubles as my possess bar (it took me forever to figure that out that it was). Finally, make sure your pet bar is active (i.e., the word "pet" shows in green text in config mode). I'm not 100% sure that's required, but that's how mine is set up and now everything works for me (and I love it!)
