2 - Control of groups for characters
Currently FriendsMonitor does use groups automatically but you may not have noticed as it’s only a fraction of what I intended it to be.
Currently there is only two groups used:
- At the moment it automatically groups all of your characters (from one account) together into a special group called "Your Characters" (took me ages to come up with the name! ;) ).
- When it sends your toons (Characters) to a friend it currently uses “Your Characters” group. And when you get a list of your friends toons from them it will create another special type of group and store all those characters in that new group so it knows which characters belong to that friend.
Both of these groups are special groups and a toon can only be in one of these at a time. For example it can’t be in your group and your friends group or two of your friends groups as a toon can only be owned by one person at a time!
But I have plans to add another type of group so you can add all you favourite raiding buddies into one group and maybe all you friend’s alts into another etc... This type of group would allow a toon to be in as many of these as you want and is just really for you.
Finally there is another type of group I want to add and that is for your toons again. Say you have a friend you only really talk to now and then. Maybe someone you help out but don’t want him bothering you on all your bank alts you could create a special group of say 3 of your characters and only give them access to that group. That way FriendsMonitor will only ever tell them about that group of characters, keeping the others away from his/her annoying begging for help! ;)

Zas
