I try to share the items I made, and they try to share theirs with me. Yet I don't see theirs, nor do they see mine.

    Have you tried disabling all other addons, to see if they cause a conflict?

    Open trade window and drop the item there manually. Dropping the item on a portrait doesnt seem to work.
