124 - Clean up code for item mounts

What is the task?
Clean up the code for item mounts.

Please provide any additional information below.

The current code was put together quickly to get support for the current 14-day broom mounts from the Halloween events.  Need to fix it up a bit to work properly with item mounts for the future.
