HowWeRoll

User's Manual

What it does

After you start a roll with HowWeRoll it captures rolls by raid members that are in your guild and in range. The result of the roll is added to each player's effort points (EP) from EPGP to create a standing that is based on both luck and the individual member's effort.

This is especially useful for vanity items such as mounts that do not serve a practical (raiding) purpose and should therefore not be charged for. HowWeRoll gives every raid member a chance to win the item but gives better odds to players with high EP.

Features

  • Determine the influence of luck on the outcome by setting the range of the roll.
  • Automatically adapt the range of the roll to the highest EP held by a member.
  • Broadcast roll events to other users of the mod. They will get a popup showing the current standings and a "Roll" button.
  • Ban certain guild ranks from rolling. (i.e. trials or alts)
  • Automatically hide the window in combat and show it again when combat ends.
  • Display in the LibDataBroker mod of your choice or as a minimap button.

Usage

  • Right-clicking the mod icon opens the configuration. (Also accessible via Blizzard's addon config)
    • The range slider sets the maximum value of the roll. Minimum is always 1. You can set numbers that cannot be set through the slider by clicking on the number below it and entering it manually.
    • If the "Use EP maximum" box is checked the maximum roll will always be equal to the highest EP anyone in your guild has.
    • The "Show minimap icon" box toggles the display of the minimap icon. Display of the LDB plugin must be toggled within your LDB mod.
    • The "Monitor Roll-events" box determines whether the GUI will open if another player initiates a HowWeRoll roll.
    • The checkboxes in the "Guildranks" tab exclude checked ranks from rolling.
  • Left-clicking the mod icon opens the GUI.
    • A click on "Start" outputs a message to the party or raid that rolling will commence. The mod will now capture rolls until you hit "Report".
    • A click on "Report" outputs the top 3 of the current standings and stops the capturing of rolls.
    • A click on "Roll" performs the roll for yourself, depending on the range that has been set.
