1 - Price changing incorrectly
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. This has only happened once, so I can't say this will reproduce it, but I had CrystalPlate Pauldrons (a quest reward in Northrend) that I used to wear and replaced with something else. After swapping them out on my character, I visited a vendor to sell them. The text that IDC displays when updating the prices appeared. It produced 2 lines of text as soon as I opened the vendor window. The first stated it was updating the price and changed it to something new (showing the original price and the new price). The second stated it was also updating the price and this time, the prices were reversed. I didn't copy the actual text... I know, I should have, but I wasn't really too testing this at the time, so didn't think about it. But here's an example of what it looked like. Just plug this into your actual format and you'll get an idea.
ItemDataCache has updated the price of Crystalplate Pauldrons from 4g35s20c to 4g47s36c.
ItemDataCache has updated the price of Crystalplate Pauldrons from 4g47s36c to 4g35s20c.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
If it was updating prices, that's fine... but why change it, then change it back?
What version of the product are you using?
1.301
Do you have an error log of what happened?
Unfortunately, no.

riamus2 Jan 22, 2009 at 00:46 UTC - 0 likesSounds good. I had noticed various prices change now and then and wondered if it was a durability change (usually it only updated one-way and that was down). But I didn't get a chance yet to really try and verify what was happening. It sounds like it's all related, though. Price updates are definitely helpful, though... considering the new patch increased prices on various motes (at least the crystallized ones) and the combined versions (elemental ___) for mining and it shows the right price without fixing them all again. Probably want to include those changed prices in this or the next release for people so they don't all update a bunch of them at once.

twobits Jan 21, 2009 at 21:58 UTC - 0 likesThats all right, I finally was able to reproduce it and think I have it fixed for the next release. It was an odd error, which was causing the owner of the tooltip used for scanning to get reset, and then the scan to return all nulls so it did not see that an item was worn. I hope to push out a new version later today or tommorow.... which I think fixes it.

twobits Jan 13, 2009 at 21:49 UTC - 0 likesWas finally able to replicate the problem, under certain conditions (which some addons can trigger) the scan starts to return all items as having nil durability. This causes prices for items that have some wear to be updated incorrectly.

twobits Jan 01, 2009 at 01:14 UTC - 0 likeshmm.. wait, it updated from a lower price to a higher price then back to a lower price ? hmm... are those the real numbers or just the format?

twobits Jan 01, 2009 at 01:13 UTC - 0 likesOk, you wore the item then? Did you repair in between? There was an issue with it sometimes updating an item that was worn to a new price when it should not have. I thought that was fixed in 1.301 and it worked in my testing here... but this sounds like the same issue that started in with wow 3.0. Let me know if it happens again so I can figure out if there is a pattern to the items it is doing this for.
