LineSplit makes it possible to submit multi-line messages in multiple channels.
Typing out a \n (newline character) in-line makes the following part of the message go out in a separate line when you hit Enter.
Typing out a channel command in-line can also make the following part of the message go out in a different channel.
Both functions can be combined in a single line (look at Examples section)
This also works from macros.
You only need to extract the addon to your AddOns folder as usual, there's no configuration to be done or needed.
My initial motivation for writing this tiny addon was to have the ability to type out multi-line macros for our raids (I'm the "quick macro" guy) without having to worry about other text being interspersed between the lines as I was typing line 2 or 3.
This allowed me to type something like:
- /target focus\n/click ExtraActionButton1\n/targetlasttarget
(our quick one button re-apply CC to adds for Wind Lord Mel'jarak)
and have it come out as:
[Raid][Player]: /target focus
[Raid][Player]: /click ExtraActionButton1
After I released the addon some users informed me that they found good use for it in chat RP :-)
For example it makes it possible to type things like this:
- Yes indeed.\n /em nods as he replies.
- Hey, lets go sit at that side of the bar.\n /e points to the left side with a few empty seats
and have them come out as:
[Player] says: Yes indeed.
Player nods as he replies.
[Player] says: Hey let's go sit at that side of the bar.
Player points to the left side with a few empty seats
Thanks to users Ahnji and Jason2 for the examples.
