I posted this information on curse.com message section, but I'll copy it over to here as its relevant to this bug:

MonkeyQuest seems to have a problem which can really hammer frame rates in certain scenarios. In that scenario, with no addons running besides MonkeyQuest and MonkeyLibrary, my frame rates would drop from over 70 to 4.

The problem seems to occur when you have both MonkeyQuest displaying a quest with a quest item icon and blizzards UI tracking and achievement. I had the Hodir dailies being tracked in MonkeyQuest and the achievement I was tracking was The Northrend Gourmet (showing I just need to cook a fish feast to complete). I imagine it doesn't have to be those quests and that acheivement specifically to reproduce the problem.

If I hide the quests with the item icons (either individually or by collapsing that zone) then the frame rates go back to normal. Collapsing blizzards objectives area does not cause the problem to go away, you have to stop tracking the achievement all together for the framerates to go back to normal.

I hope you can find what the problem is or at least add an option that lets those quests with items be treated just like any other quest as a work around. I love MonkeyQuest and have been using it forever.

Bug Environment Details: In Blizzards Objective options, all check boxes are unechecked. I usually run with MonkeyBuddy, MonkeyLibrary and MonkeyQuest enabled; MonkeyQuestLog is disabled.

MonkeyBuddy options: minimap icon is not shown daily quest counter in title is shown

MonkeyQuest options - the following are the options checked Open MonkeyQuest Use overviews Expand upwards Show the number of quests Color the quest titles by difficulty Hide completed objectives show objective completeness in tooltips Allow right click to open monkey buddy hide the title text color objectives by progress show quest zone highlighting show the quests levels enable work complete sound show quest items on left side

<edit - followup> Theres seems to be some smaller amounts for frame loss whenever those types of quests are shown - the more there are the lower the frame rate. It doesn't pull it down to the shuddering 4 FPS like it did with the objective tracker up but its there. I had a a full quest log showing 22 completed quests or so with 8 of them having those icons and was getting around 55 fps. Hiding all those quests bumped my fps up to 70.
