Change log
Updated for 4.3.
4.3.0.94
Updates:
- The tabs once again fit correctly under the character window in 4.3.
Known caveats
- Do not run more than one RP AddOn which supports MSP simultaneously. You will be warned if you try to run two different MSP AddOns at once (as they will very likely conflict with each other, causing serious malfunctions in both). Besides, this is quite unnecessary: since all MSP AddOns speak the same protocol, they are all compatible with each other (to at least the degree of common support). There is no need to run two AddOns which perform exactly the same purpose and can talk with each other; simply pick whichever one you prefer.
- Tooltip: Other UI AddOns which modify the player tooltips, such as TipTac or GearScore, are likely to conflict with the more advanced tooltip styles. “Light” or “Flag-style” tooltips may be more compatible, but have a simpler style as a result. In a pinch, you can disable the tooltip support by selecting Blizzard Default tooltips.
- Shapeshifting (Worgen): Due to a Blizzard oversight and certain unannounced, undocumented changes Blizzard has made for unknown reasons, MyRolePlay has to use advanced gnomish “GuessWork™” technology to detect Human or Worgen forms. Like all gnomish technology, there is a chance this could backfire, perhaps even slightly more chance than in previous versions.
IMPORTANT: You will need to force yourself into Worgen form by using Running Wild, casting Darkflight or getting into combat before it will be able to keep track.
If it gets out of sync (it shouldn’t usually, but might in unusual circumstances), try doing one of those three things again to get it back into shape, or try changing profile manually. /transform has been removed in WoW 4.1; use /cast Two Forms instead. All other forms should work OK.
- While profile changes are immediate, they may in some circumstances take up to six seconds to show up to other players. This is by design (for performance reasons and to prevent excessive network traffic).
- Button: Should the MRP button not appear because you use heavily customised Unit Frames, try /mrp button reset — if that doesn’t work, please check if it’s simply underneath one of your modified unit frames, and if so, move it out to where you want it. X-Perl, Perl Classic, and Shadowed Unit Frames seem to work OK. (If you still can’t find it, please report it as a bug on http://moonshyne.org/.)
- RP Names: RP names will only appear for players you have tooltip data of. They only appear in the principal RP channels: /say, /emote and /yell. (This means the RP name may not appear for the very first line someone speaks, if they haven’t spoken before near you in this session, requested your tooltip data, or you haven’t moused over them before in this session.)
