132 - Feature Request - Pet Duration

With the new cooldowns being introduced for hunters in Mists (Dire Beast, Lynx Rush, A Murder of Crows, Stampede) and so on, I have noted that those are not target debuffs, pet buffs, or self-buffs.

They are all triggered -on- the pet, somewhat, and that is a feature which NTK will need for the expansion to fully cover the hunters' ability range.

Like Sedivvy noted on MMO-Champion: "Those are pet durations so they don't follow under buffs. However pet duration can be tracked since they're mostly set timers from an event in combat log, just usually not monitored by buff mods. You'd have to ask the author for it as a feature."

Would love such a feature, thanks.

    I think this bug needs to be broken out for these new abilities as they manifest themselves in different ways.

    Dire Beast is NOT a debuff, or buff. It looks to be a standalone temporary summoned pet. It can be measured with the NTK spell cooldown very nicely. And if you add a 15sec Visual Cast Time to it then you'll see the 15sec that it is active and remaining 15sec that it is still on cooldown. That's a nice easy to read form. The spell doesn't seem like it can fail. It attacks the target you're attacking and can switch targets. It doesn't have variability in its cooldown. I think this is very well covered by NTK. (Check my video link Kitjan shared below. My exported NTK settings are at http://hunter-dps.dungeoneer.com. I'll probably update them with the full suite soon.)

    A Murder of Crows (aMoCs) is a difficult case. I need to do more controlled testing on that one, but I do suspect NTK doesn't have a perfect way to handle it in the compact form I'd like. aMoCs is a single target debuff. I suspect it could fail, but I haven't seen it happen yet. The debuff icon doesn't have a clock tick-down on the mob it is applied to, but does [of course] drop off after it expires from its 30sec pseudo-pet-DoT. The thing I want for a aMoCs is to both see when it is damaging and when comes off CD. I believe I could do this with two bars (Debuff and Spell CD) but not currently with one. Again, I need to observe more with the variable (execute/non-execute) cooldown time.

    That's interesting that it shows up as an infinite aura on the target. Does it still go away after 30s?

    I posted this on wowinterface already (and was that you that responded already?) but I'd like it to be in this ticket as well:

    Our guild hunter put together a video on how he's got his bars set up for those spells, see what you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLTGKcHRw70&feature=vmdshb

    @Kitjan: Go

    Im not the creator of the thread but what we want to be able to track is the duration of a murder of crows (30s) since this ability clipps. Dire beast is not that important since we can have 2 up at the same time. Before this thread came up i made a topic on wowinterface and this is one of the replyes i received, maybe it can be of some help.

    "Murder of Crows, at least, are not pets. They're not targetable and don't "exist" as a unit or units. It's simply a dot on the target as far as my limited use has shown."

    When i tryed to use MoC in NTK as a debuff (on target) the bar appears but without any timer or spark. So it shows that it's up but can't seem to track the remaining duration of it.

    Got some help from a guildy, and the cooldowns for those work as spell cooldown bars. Is that what you were trying to track?

    @Kitjan: Go

    The first one is at level 60 (Dire beast) and the second one at 75 (a murder of crows).

    What's the lowest level ability like that? Getting a toon to level 10 doesn't take too long these days.

    NTK doesn't watch the unfiltered combat log right now because it's so much more performance intensive than watching just aura events. However, it might generate a UNIT_SPELLCAST_SUCCEEDED or something else I can efficiently watch. I'll see about having one of my guild hunters do some research.
