128 - Integrate with DataStore_Achievements
I'm using Altoholic to track possessions and achievements of all my alts. It uses the DataStore_ family of addons to actually collect and hold the data. It would be great if Overachiever used DataStore_Achievements so that it could display the achievement status of my alts as I mouse over things. For example, if I'm in Dalaran and spot a Higher Learning book I've already read, I'd like to know if it's a good idea to log out and bring in an alt to read it.

On the surface, it looks like a great idea, esp since I'm trying to manage a main and two highlvl alts and get them all the cook-one-of-everything achieves, and mailing uncooked junk around is getting irritating. Being able to mouse over something (a cooking recipe, a fishing node, a critter that needs loving/killing, a character that needs snow/petals/ears/turkey-ing) and see all my alts' statuses (statii?) on that object initially sounds appealing.
But I have questions.
What happens if a person uses OA but not Alto/DS? Granted I can't imagine that happening (./clings to all her addons) but it is theoretically possible. Would OA come bundled with its own version of DS_Ach, to ensure said functionality for all OA users? What happens when a patch hits and Alto updates more quickly than OA and then there's conflicting tocs and expectations? Does Tuhljin just tell all his users "I've added this functionality but you have to have this whole other addon to make it work"? Sure, some addons work like that (tidy plates / threat plates) but I'm not sure how that works in a situation like this.
Does seeing my alts statii for a given object increase load time? Mem usage? What happens if I don't want to see that giant tooltip with potentially up to 9 extra lines of information 100% of the time? Is it possible to make a toggle function, "press nothing and mouse over to see only my ach data, press shift+ctrl and mouse over to see all alts"? What about being able to specify, "For cooking Gourmet achs, or the eat-cata-foods achs, allow me to whitelist chars to include in the tooltip, and/or auto-detect which alts aren't high enough to eat said foods"? What about individually editing the whitelists based on profession type? Alts I might want to see cooking-related Ach data about might not be the same alts I want to see fishing-related Ach data about. What about blacklisting my lvl 1 bank alt, who's Ach data (ie, lack thereof) I wouldn't ever want to see?
Also, if you can see a HL book, log out, log in an alt, load Dalaran, and make it to the book before the book disappears, I might be compelled to officially hate you. I'm just sayin' : p.
