I have made an Addon that creates some highly used mage macros for you. Everyone can download and use this addon and it will only create the macros for your mage class characters. Then just go to the macro list from the /macro command, select your char tab and grab one and drop it on a bar. (Don't worry about the icons, they will be correct when you drop them on your bar.)

The following is a list of macros that it will make and what they do.

Buff1 : This will cast Mage Armor then Arcane Intellect on you (click twice, resets to Mage Armor after 30 sec) Buff2 : This will cast Frost Armor then Arcane Intellect on you (click twice, resets to Frost Armor after 30 sec) CS : This will set your focus target, cast Counterspell and announce to the party/raid what target you are Counterspelling. You will not lose your target until it dies and you try to CS a new target. (if you need to change focus targets while your current focus is still alive then press the Alt key and the macro while targeting a new target.) Detect : Works just like Counterspell with the Detect magic spell. Escape : This will cast Frostnova the first click, then blink the second click. (If you do not use blink, it will reset to Frostnova after it has cooled down, 24sec.) Explod : If you have Arcanepower it will cast AP, then Arcane Explosion. (adjusts automatically based on level of spells in spellbook) Fire : If you have Presence of Mind then it will cast POM then Fireball, if you have Arcanepower then it will cast POM, AP, then Fireball. (adjusts automatically based on level of spells in spellbook) Frost : The same as Fire except with Frostbolt Gems : This casts the highest level mana gem you can conjure up to three gems max in desending order. Just click the same macro 3 times. (adjusts automatically based on level of spells in spellbook) Missle : Same as explod Poly : Same as CS but it also whispers other party/raid members that also have targeted your poly target, "please change targets". Rest : Puts the highest level water/food the mage can conjure into a macro for the mage to take a rest and drink/eat. It will show the amount of "conjured" water you have avail. in the bar. (adjusts automatically based on level of spells in spellbook)
