Roleplay Whispers
Roleplayers may have been in this situation once or twice before: You want your character to whisper something to the person next to them, so you /whisper them. So far so good. Except, the people around you have no idea you just did that!
But what do we do to make sure they do know?
We use WHISPTO!
WHISPTO adds a shorthand command for exactly that kind of situation: the /wsp command.
Sounds great! How do I use it?
Simply target the recipient, type /wsp and continue to write your message. It would whisper your target (provided it’s a friendly player, of course) with a handy “*whispers*” prefix so they know for sure it’s an in-character whisper, then emotes you whispering for all to know.
In short, targeting my friend Sprocketgear and typing: “/wsp I think he’s talking about the faulty gears you used…” (without the quotes) would result in two things being sent:
- /tell Sprocketgear *whispers* I think he’s talking about the faulty gears you used…
- /em whispers something in Sprocketgear’s ear.
What if I don’t want your default messages?
That’s fully customizable. Just type /wspconfig to open the addon’s options dialog. (Or find it in the “AddOns” tab of the Interface Options.)
That way you can configure the emotes the addon sends.
Bonus: Crazy people muttering things? We’ve got that too!
Type /mutter to “mutter something to yourself.” Also fully customizable via the options screen.
