RhadaTip DPS/HPS Tooltip

Enchanting Related Features

Enchanting has become more complex as Blizzard had shifted enchants from being simple stat bonuses to proc based systems. Also, Blizzard has begun adding enchants to the game that effect cappable stats.

To help make thing a bit more transparent, RhadaTip has begun to add dps estimations to enchants using the same formulas long used on trinkets and weapons. If an item is not enchanted, RhadaTip will scan its internal database of known enchants and find the one that will give the most DPS.

The display is optional and can be disabled in the options panel. RhadaTip tracks cappable stats separately from the dps estimates, so you can feel safe in doing so without affecting the hit cap and spirit calculations on your gear.

RhadaTip does not include a complete database of all enchants, so you will sometimes see RhadaTip list "Unknown Enchant: <enchant number>" on tooltips. I will be working on expanding it as time goes on. If you find a particular enchant that you feel needs priority let me know by opening a ticket.

Enchant DPS is NOT INCLUDED in the item DPS values and the Total Gear DPS values. This would heavily skew the results based upon enchant costs and other factors. The enchants DPS values are broken out and listed independently, and likely will remain so. There is a small exception to this though. Stat contributions are handled in parallel to the DPS values. For hit, expertise, and spirit... RhadaTip includes their stat values in the gear stats. This does infact change the DPS value of the enchanted items. The reason for this has to do with the cap calculations. If these contributions were not tallied, caps and gear selections could not be properly made. This in fact is why enchants were added to RhadaTip. I am currently on the fence with this decision. I may, and likely will, add an option to disable this functionality as well. The problem comes into play when comparing a hit enchanted item with a non enchanted one for example. The enchanted item is going to have a large advantage over the other, without a clear reason for it. Its also important to understand that the item DPS calculations and the enchant DPS calculations are done independently of each other, and are not directly related.

I'm not sure all of this is clear enough yet, and will be working to improve the documentation further.
