Description

ShieldsUp is a monitor for your Earth Shield, Lightning Shield, and Water Shield. Features include:

• Clear text display of remaining charges and Earth Shield target name
• Indication when your Earth Shield has been overwritten
• Text and sound alerts when a shield expires or is removed
• Condensed display while solo, or for shamans without Earth Shield
• Automatic visibility states based on group size, zone type, and more
• Configurable appearance and behavior
• Implicit support for all glyphs and talents which affect the number of charges on your shields

Usage

Options are available in the default Interface Options window. As a shortcut, you can type "/sup" to jump directly to the ShieldsUp options panel.

Note that due to a Blizzard bug, if accessing the ShieldsUp panel in the Interface Options window would require you to scroll up or down in the addon list column, typing "/sup" will open the window to the last shown panel, instead of opening it to the ShieldsUp panel. You can install the addon InterfaceOptionsFrame_OpenToCategory_Fix to correct this problem. I also recommend BetterBlizzOptions to make the Interface Options window movable and resizable.

Localization

ShieldsUp is compatible with all locales.

ShieldsUp is translated into English, German (deDE), Simplified Chinese (zhCN), Traditional Chinese (zhTW), and partial Russian (ruRU). If you would like to help translate ShieldsUp for another locale, please send me a PM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why don't I see any charges for the Earth Shield I just cast?

A: ShieldsUp only monitors Earth Shield when it is cast on yourself, or on a player or pet in your party or raid. This was an intentional design decision, because it is impossible to reliably monitor Earth Shield on someone outside of your group.

Q: Why do I only see one charge counter?

A: The second charge counter is only shown while you are in a group and have the Earth Shield talent. If you're not in a group, then ShieldsUp will only monitor your Earth Shield if you cast it on yourself. If you don't have the Earth Shield talent, then the only shields you can cast are only castable on yourself. In either case, since you can only have one shield cast on yourself by yourself at any given time, there's no need for a second counter.

Please use the ticket tracker! Please keep in mind that ShieldsUp is intentionally limited in scope to locally monitoring shaman shields you cast, and that requests for features outside of this scope will not be considered.

Bug Reports

Please use the ticket tracker! Be sure to include all of the information requested in the ticket template, and don't be afraid of including too much. It's better to include too much information than not enough. Above all, include the actual version number of your installed copy of ShieldsUp; tickets that do not specify a version number will be ignored.

Remember to check on your ticket after a few days! In many cases, I will need additional information to identify the problem, or will ask you to try a potential fix if I am not able to reproduce the problem myself. If a ticket is waiting on a response from you for more than 10 days, I will assume you solved the problem yourself, and close the ticket.
