Watcher

Configuration

To access the configuration menu screen for the addon type "/watcher config" or access through the interface options menu.

config1

Setting up the priority tables

Initially, the addon's priority tables are empty so therefore this should be your first action. The addon makes use of 2 priority tables for monitoring attacks. Priority Table 1 refers to your primary spec while Priority Table 2 refers to your secondary spec.

Spells with first priority will be given the highest spot possible on the stack while spells with eighth priority will be given the lowest spot on the stack.

Clicking on a box will provide a list of spells and attacks that are able to be monitored. Provided that the spell relates to your class and spec then the addon will monitor it.

Other

Other options are available to help control the appearance of the addon. These are mostly located in the display setting menu.

Before 4.0.1 I was also able to use this add on (using the add spell feature) with my shaman, just to do things like watch my flame shock duration and lava bursts, and also to track riptide (to time with my other casts), but now it won't even show up. The comment about "full support" was also on the pre-4.0.1 version, but the add on was still usable, you just had to add all the spells yourself. It would still be immensely useful for other classes even with only manual spell entry.

UPDATE: I was able to get Watcher to show up on my mage by simply checking it off in the add ons list at the character screen, but it doesn't show for either of my shammies, both of whom used it pre 4.0.1. I also tried deleting the saved variables files for watcher.lua (both for character and account), and trying again but basically, I can check off the add on for my shammies, and log in, but once in, Watcher isn't loaded (i.e. it doesn't show up in my add ons tab in Interface, and typing /watcher config, only brings up the generic blizzard "type /help for ...".

    Hey there.

I tried to use this addon for my fury warrior after updating wow to 4.0. First I want to say that its quiet hard to understand how the settings work if you never used it bevor. Maybe I dont understand cause im german. But as you can see, my english skills aren't that worse so I doubt that its the reason. I really can't imagin how I add spells to it. When I just try sth. it looks as the addon is kinda buggy. I added a skill but when I relog its gone. I really dont understand how to use it. A better and easier description how it works would be nice. Cause I imagine that this addon would be very usefull. And I really want to try it.

pls help with a better setting desrcription or with answer if it is still buggy since it was updated on 4.0.

    so long Ranger

Really love the add on with my Paladin, and was excited to try it on my Affliction Warlock. Found a few issues though.

It seems that whenever I create a new spell, the add on no longer allows functionality of the priority list. A quick /reloadui fixes the problem, but is still annoying to do every time I add spells.

Secondly, as an Affliction Warlock w/ Glyph of Life tap, it's essential to keep that up every 40 seconds. I can't actually even get life tap to show up at all on the list. Tried using the spell ID, still no luck.

If a target has less than 25% HP, Drain Soul does 4x normal damage, making it the priority spell at the end of a fight (While keeping DoT's refreshed if it's a long fight). It would be nice to have something to interrupt and check boss HP as a % to change priority. For raids, it would be incredibly helpful to have it continue to remind you to refresh standard DoT's.

Last but not least, and this is a tough one, AoE vs. Single target on normal encounters. Difference between full DoT rotation and exchanging Corruption w/ Seed of Corruption. I really don't expect the add-on itself to distinguish this change, since I see no way for it to know anything other than what you're targeting. But a quick toggle key could be put in place to allow for multiple standard rotations based on 2 or maybe even 3 common types of non-boss like encounters. Just a simple macro that could be made and hot keyed wherever desired.

This is an addon I really rely on both on my hunter and on my palla. Has been working well until last update where it has disappeared from palla. Reinstalled and still no joy. Is working on hunter tho I had to configure again after reinstall. Any suggestions why it not available on palla?

For those wondering why you are not getting this addon to show up make sure your class is one of those supported as stated on the overview page, "Currently, full support is limited to Hunter, Warriors and Paladins, Feral Druid and Shadow Priest ."

This walkthrough is not for the same version I have just downloaded. Can u please make an update? Please note - there are no Priority Tables 1 or 2 in the current /watcher config screen and the Configure Options button does absolutely nothing. An optional minimap button would also be helpful.

Very useful addon for hunters. At first it confused me a lot, as it didn't do anything. That only lasted until I used configuration to set up a priority - end of confusion. It is very simple to set up.

I wish I could use it for some of my other classes as well, but rogues, with the use of combo points, are a quite a bit more complex than Watcher can handle, and druids, well, can be played many ways, depending on your current role (dps, healer, tank), and I don't tank at all.

Mages and locks should be doable, but I don't play those very often. If somebody have suggestions for those classes, I'd be delighted to try - that is, when I get them leveled a bit (lvl 51, 28 and 27)
