21 - Suggestion:Blocking emote spam
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Any kind of emote spam, usually creating a multi line macro that has the same emote multiple times works

Multiple lines of emotes. /hug, /kiss, etc.
What version of the product are you using?

Playsatan Jun 21, 2009 at 00:53 UTC - 0 likesWell the reason I posted this ticket is because one night as I was coming out of the dalaran inn, some idiot was spamming a hug macro on random people. the annoying part was that I couldn't report him for spam using blizzards "report spam" option and had to /ignore him.
This was probably a 5 line macro too that he was pressing as my text was just flying up so fast.
I'm guessing that spammenot works by looking for key words and blocks them ? if that's the case, this guys hug macro would pass through the filters easily.
Would it be possible to implement a filter so that a person spamming the same message or emote more than 5 times a minute would be blocked ?

Octane666 Jun 18, 2009 at 20:22 UTC - 0 likesSpamMeNot will block gold spam that is detected through emotes such as "Fred thinks you should buy cheap gold form www.somegoldsite.com" but doesn't generally stop any other sort of message spam other than the trade channel 'anal' and 'dirge' rubbish.
