Tidy Plates: Threat Plates v6.0

Comments & Tickets

About:

  • Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Features:

  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

Commands:

  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

Additional Information:

  • A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

    threatplates seems to have quit working on all my toons - I've tried changing out the theme and then reselecting threatplates but it still doesn't work. Not sure what the issue is - it was working fine up until yesterday.

    @Araemus: Go

    As I understand it, Threat Plates IS a theme for Tidy Plates. Every now and then I'll find that I don't see the right unit frames, and every time it's the Threat Plates theme setting that has gone back to it's default. Reselect Threat and bingo, back to looking at what I want to see.

    This is probably a dumb question, but is there a way to change the theme of the plates? I prefer using the neon theme, but I'm not sure how I would incorporate it into Threat Plates, as I cannot seem to find an option to change the theme. Thanks for putting this together and taking the time to read and possibly answer my question.

    Tapped mobs are easy to fix, the fix was posted here long ago by danltiger

    http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=15749&so=&page=3#comments

    same fix posted a few comments below too. I been using fix for a good while. no other issues really. I also modified my own local copy of threat plates to use much less cpu by only registering widgets function if it's actually in use. current threat plates wastes tons of cpu because it registers everything and forces tidy plates widgets to use tons of cpu even if disabled. My check makes sure it only registers widgets to tidyplates if you have them enabled, saving the cpu if you're like me and don't use the widget functions

    After editing the code to have tagged mobs show for me, the only problem I have now is that when new mobs appear in the fight (not all) like Durumu light-phase adds or the trash before where the white small adds are invisible and appear after, those kind of mobs do not have a nameplate.

    Seems like it happens only to hidden adds and not spawning ones like bats in Tortos.

    @Tharai: Go

    Once again, thanks to Tharai... BUT it does not seem to contain the fix for mobs others are attacking...

    @museerouge: Go

    Did the first fix, the second seemed in my file to be like he said, and out in the world, working much better (before I did that first edit, I would see the gray plates, but always only briefly),

    The issue is we now have 2 "fixes" from 2 other add-on authors and no word from the original developer. If I was not following this thread...

    @H3aVY_M3TaL: Go

    Yes, it just takes two small edits. The author of the original "Tidy Plates" (danltiger - who is not the author of "Tidy Plates: Threat Plates") figured out the problem on the "Tidy Plates" forums and posted how to fix it here.

    I followed his instructions and grey ("tagged"/"tapped") mobs now show correctly. Hopefully suicidalkatt (the author of "Tidy Plates: Threat Plates") sees this and implements the fix in the next TP:TP patch. Until then, after you make the edits "Tidy Plates: Threat Plates" will be marked as "Modified" in the "Status" column of your Curse Client.
