Class Color staying white

Tried to configure TP to have the name be displayed by class, however no matter what I did the names always stayed white.

Configure to threat they go red, configure to health they change to green.

But by class? Nada. And this is with the most recent version. I downgraded the mod to 6.4.8.5 to check. Changing the name to class in that version works fine, but the health bar color changes are not available.

Had a couple friends DL the new version as well. Same issue.

Edit: This is using the quatre/dmg theme settings. And holy hell a few changes and zero debuffs are displaying on the health bar. Try to change a color and the whole thing breaks. Awesome.

And upon reinstalling its only showing random buffs and debuffs. I think this needed a bit more bug testing before being released.

Not worth the hassle. Class colors don't work, and debuffs will not appear on players only NPCs. And even then the results are sporadic at best.

    Mag,

We released 6.5 final on Wowinterface weeks ago. This thing has been tested as well as possible. That said, even with thousands of users, things can slip by.

But, it sounds like there's something else going on, in your case. For kicks, I deleted all my addons, and installed a fresh copy of Tidy Plates. I scrolled down to the "Color" category and changed 'Health Bar Color' and 'Name Color' to 'By Class'. Friendly PCs get colored blue, and NPCs green. I queue for a random BG, and enemies are colored properly. You should at least be seeing some sort of color, even if it's only reaction color. I also tested debuffs (Buffs are not even processed) on my warrior, druid, shaman and rogue. Things are working as-expected.

So, the first thing I suggest is to delete Tidy Plates and all associated folders. Then, re-install. This has fixed 99% of this kind of issue.

As noted in the changelog (and on the front page), 6.4.x hub settings are incompatible with 6.5, so you'll have to re-enter your debuff list.

If after re-installing, you're still having problems, let me know.

Reinstalling and trying again is what I did. 5 times.

Disabled every addon I had running only Tidyplates. No matter what setting I tweaked with, the player name would never change for class color. It would remain white.

All I was trying to do with the mod was simple. Have player names be color coded by class while having the health bar display the health by color code. ( green, yellow, red ) And at the same time, having NPC names show up according to threat. Red for hostile and so on. I could get the bar and the NPC names to work properly, but the Player name would never change. Same goes for a few others whom I had DL the mod just to be sure it wasn't my setup that was causing the issue.

SS of what I mean. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/52/wowscrnshot011912075404.jpg/

And I realize I did not specify that this was in relation to enemy players. But as you can see, the NPC shows up red but the player's name remains white.

Aright, at the bottom of the Color options, there's a checkbox called "Show Class Color for Party/Raid Members". You'll need to hit that for Friendlies to get class colors. Right now, it colors the health bar, too. It shouldn't. I'll have to change that.

Actually that was to show that its not showing for hostile players. Unless dueling does not trigger it, the flag is hidden by the interface menu sadly.

That seems to be working, though I have been timid to change much but the nameplates are changing color accordingly. Will apologize for the tone in my first post, had been arguing with the mod for some time, then moreso to make sure it wasn't just me missing something. Good 4 hours messing with it out of pure stubbornness.

Appreciate ya looking into it anyway. :)

getting a really interesting bug now though it seems.

I just spent a bit of time looking into that error. Found a few things, including this thread: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3657281256

The general feeling across several threads is that this error can be caused by any addon which uses the UIDropdown object, since it requires loading your own data into the frame, which 'taints' the frame with insecure data. I can't verify this, because I just downloaded the SDK, and it doesn't even have a line 343 of 'Blizzard_CompactRaidFrameContainer.lua'... which probably means that it hasn't been updated.

A short-term solution is to not to use an addon's configuration menus while in combat. I'll have to do some more research on this.

Glad you're finally getting the right results! And, the tone of your first post was hardly the harshest I've seen.

You'll see the update on Curse in a few days. I leave the working version on the Wowinterface Tidy Plates Beta page until I'm somewhat confident that it's stable. Then, it goes to the mainstream Wowinterface page for a bit longer before I feel comfortable updating the Curse download.
