Titan [Reputation] (+Glamour)

8 - Use submenus for faction reputations

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Scroll over reputation piece in Titan panel

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to see categories like "WoTLK, BC, Classic, Other"

Instead, I see that plus every single reputation for those divisions.  The problem with this is that I have reputation with so many factions, it can't all fit on the screen.  It would be nice for me to be able to move my mouse over a specific expansion, and then see the reputations associated with just that expansion.

What version of the product are you using?
3.6.7

    @Goranth: Go

This idea is simple and elegant enough to warrant investigation. I will see what I can do. Thanks for the comment.

I have an alternate solution that may be worth exploring. I do not flag any reps inactive and when I bring up the addons tooltip I like its layout. would it be possible for the addon to detect the bottom of the screen and simply make a second column for the remaining factions and the session data? The submenu idea is ok, but it would feel just like the char rep pane by not having all the info you want on screen at the same time.

I see now that there is a hierarchy in place that identifies the expansions of the various faction. I'll see what I can come up with that.

The current groups are built in by blizzard. In order to do an expansion centered grouping system, I'd need to maintain an internal database of which factions belong to which expansion. This isn't all that complicated, but it does create a certain level of hand-holding in future updates as there is no internal way to determine which faction belongs to which expansion. (at least that i know of)

Just to clarify how you'd like things to work, so that I can mull it over a bit:

Instead of a tooltip to be displayed when mousing over the Reputation button on Titan Panel, instead you get a drop down style menu system that that lists expansions. Hovering over those expansions, yields the tooltip with the breakdown of factions for that expansion.

I still think it would be a cleaner design to have the factions for a given expansion as something that gets expanded. ;)

In the right click menu, you can toggle the various factions groups on and off. Doing so will remove the entire group from the tooltip. This allows you to trim the tooltip down to view only the factions that matter to you.

Additionally, in the Tooltip options, you can show/hide specific standings from the tooltip. There really are several options for customizing the tooltip more to your taste.

I've attached a screenshot. You can see my list of reputations goes clean off the screen. Rather than having WoTLK, then every known rep from that expansion under it, then BC, and every known rep under it, etc, which makes one really long huge screen of rep, I think there should be an arrow like ">" next to the category, so you can expand just the reps for a specific section. That would allow a much more distinct view and make it easier to find the various reputations.

Screen shot please, I'm having trouble figuring out precisely what your saying.
