Tongues

24 - Feature Request(s)

What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

Please provide any additional information below.

FuBar support- It'd be nice not to have to have an extra button on my screen if I don't need it.  Currently there's a small Module for FuBar already called BabelFu that operates the default Languages and can be switched with simple clicks on the module.  Lore always lacked this, and it would be nice to see it as a feature of Tongues.  For TitanPanel users, I suppose it's only be fair to see a TitanPanel Module as well.

Modular Addition of Languages- Lore lacks this at present. All the languages are contained in one long LUA file, and it's not precisely user friendly if you're not used to LUA coding. I'd like at least to see it made possible to give each language it's own text file. Not only would it make it simpler to add languages, but simpler to distribute them as well.

(Maybe) An In-Game UI for Adding Languages- Roleplay Helper, like Lore, used to have long LUA files you'd have to manually modify to set new custom sayings and such. When the Mod was re-coded for Ace, the Author made a GUI interface for adding Sayings while still in-game. It was a HELL of a lot friendlier. It's be nice to see something like this for Tongues.

I was planning on having a built-in way to share custom languages, and I can extend that to creating the languages.

I'll have to support the current lua method as well, though.

Very good ideas, I'll begin working on them soon.

Also, I tried to respond to your message on curse.com ... if you are available I would be willing to work with you to debug the Lore compatibility stuff ... I just suspect that Rufftran won't continue updating Lore when WotLK comes out which will definately break Lore.

Another Request: Dialect/Affect-Language Pairings- Now that I'm beginning to understand how things work a bit better, I'm thinking it would be handy if Dialect/Affect Settings could be saved in pairs with Languages.

For instance, I have a character that, when he speaks in Orcish, has a decided Cockney accent to his speech, but when he speaks in Thalassian, sheds the accent. In order to do this presently I have to reset the Dialect drop box each time I change languages. It's a bit cumbersome.
