12 - Posting Items & Competition
1)
When posting an item, currently it automatically shows you any competition for it.
It would be a great feature to be able to see a colored level price, defined by whatever the user wants (configured in the config) it could be any of the stats AuctionMaster stores.
Along with the level price information, there should be an easy way to bid or buyout any competition.
Example: I want to sell some Small Prismatic Shards, and all the competition is selling for 5g, except 2 auctions that are going for 50s. What I would like to do is to quickly buy out those 50s auctions and post mine at 4g.
2)
Get rid of the footer, to create a newly header on top on the listing. On this header, there would be 2 kinds of information, Historical Data & Market Data.
- Historical Data includes information like times you've bought, sold & auctioned the item. (With a % of auction success, maybe?), Lowest/Highest/Average bids & buyouts; we don't really want the dates of the transactions here, we just want the prices to appraise our item. Somewhere related to this historical data there should be a label with our "Book value", that is, after selling it successfully or unsuccessfully X times, the addon suggests us to modify the price by X.
Other useful information to be mentioned: Lowest / Highest bids & buyouts, as well as the average. (of our historical buy/sell auctions data).
- Market Data includes Lowest, Highest & Average actual market values. As well as how many auctions are going on at the moment, and the age of the data (up-to-dateness).
3)
Money formating: This is more of a personal preference, but I think the addon would look neater if the money was compactly formated (Example: 190.26.65 (colored), instead of 190g26s65c), I don't know much about this, but maybe looking at the addon MoneyFu could help, this addon lets you choose the formatting you prefer.

virginc Wed, 14 Jan 2009 16:13:20What I meant is something similar to what Auctioneer has; you can set like 4 percentage levels, ie:
Under 50%
Between 50% & 100%
Between 100% & 150%
Over 200% ... etc
And set a color for each of those levels. Then another option that lets the user choose what stat to use to define the price level. Like a drop down menu with a couple options, to make the addon totally configurable. These options could be like:
- Historic Market Price > Low / High / Average
- Current Market Price > Low / HIgh / Average
- Book Value > Low / High / Average
As in, there are 3 methods of comparing it, and each method has 3 different stats, Low, High & Average, that way we have 6 different points of view when it comes to price levels. It won't be overwhelming because only one of them will be shown. But if the user wishes it, he can go back to the setup and change the defining stat.
Notes:
- "Low" records the lowest bid & buyout that a scan has ever seen on that object.
- "High" same thing but with the highest.
- "Average" records the average bid & buyouts from all the scans for that object.

Udorn Tue, 13 Jan 2009 16:51:44Hi,
good suggesstions.
Do you mean with "colored level price" something like "is above/under the market price"?
The historical data will sometime be added, but currently I doesn't monitor them at all.
