Error Reporting

chrisgmodcomic.com is now back online with a different host. However, the vgcomms@chrisgmodcomic.com email does (and will) not exist. So, when it comes to reporting bugs/errors/etc, either send a ticket via Curse, or email chris@curquhart.co.uk - making sure you use the subject 'VGComms Bug/Error.

Version Numbers

From now on, I will specify in the version number whether or not you need to delete the VGComms folder prior to installing.

If a version number has 'CI' in it, that means it is a Clean Install. Curse Client users can uninstall the addon and then reinstall from the search box.

About

What this addon does is vastly increase your options for the most menial of tasks, such as requesting help from your party or stating the fact you finally found Durn the Hungerer.

Video Game Communications (aka VGComms) takes chat commands from other games and introduces them to WoW. All the sounds you play are heard by other people in your party or raid (provided they have the addon as well). It's a great way of improving communications (source: none)!

Features

  • 113 sounds to play!
    • All sounds come with the addon.
  • Not a Tauren, yet you want to moo at your fellow party members for the lulz? Use the /vmoo command!
  • Ability to share /oom, /healme and /helpme sounds with the whole party/raid.
  • Informative messages. EXAMPLE: Using the /c3 command displays a message saying you need help!
  • In-game help.
    • Spread over several pages (/vgc*, where * is a page number, up to 4).
    • Only one page at a time should be viewed. Having more than one page open at one prevents you closing the ones underneath. For example, if you are looking at Page 1 then open Page 2 without closing Page 1 - you will only be able to close Page 2, and Page 1 will be stuck on your screen, forcing you to log out and in again. I apologise for this inconvenience, but I've also warned you, so don't send me emails saying 'omg ur addon iz bugged lolzor wtf'.

Intended Features

Nothing at the moment.

Known Issues

  • The /fheal command plays the same sound as /lheal (even though it is the correct filename). This has now been fixed.

I would REALLY appreciate it if users reported bugs and stuff.

Comments and Suggestions

Comments and suggestions are welcome, whether you are saying 'Good work' or 'I have an idea!'. I can be contacted in game on Saurfang (EU), under the names Navitas or Omgwtfhax (both Alliance). If you want to voice criticism, at least make it constructive. Saying things like 'omg u suck and so does ur addon lolololol' will get you nowhere.

If you want me to add sounds from your favourite game, let me know:

1. The name of the game. 2. Where I can find sounds.

Disclaimer

All sounds with this addon are used for entertainment purposes only. All sounds are the copyright of their respective owners. Any profit made from this addon is for the time I spend working on it, and not for the sounds. I respect all international copyright laws.
