Warrior Proc Alert

This project has become inactive.

This project is inactive and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. The author may have abandoned it, or it may have outlived its usefulness.

Why another mod?

Warriors have many abilities that are only available when they have certain buffs or their target has certain debuffs. For instance Taste for Blood allows Arms warriors to use Overpower even when they have not dodged recently.

Some mods went a long way toward helping warriors see these procs. However these mods don't recognize all procs and are lacking in the Arms spec. This mod allows warriors to see a simple pop-up letting them know the most important proc currently available. No more carefully searching through the huge lists of buffs and debuffs hoping that you spot the procs in time.

Also, the easy to use "Check Box" options interface allows you to set your preferred mode without having to type in the name of the proc that needs to be monitored. This mod was created by a warrior, for warriors.

How do you use this mod?

The best way to set it up is to use the GUI options.
Toggle show the Option Window: /wproc options
Toggle enable Proc Alerts (only shows alerts configured through the options window): /wproc show
Toggle lock the Windows (including proc alert window): /wproc lock

Explanation of GUI options:

  • Show: The proc alert window will appear when selected and alert options are also selected.
  • Instance only: The proc alert window will only appear when the player is in an instance.
  • Show Spell Names: The proc will appear with the spell name as well as the spell icon.
  • Lock: Locks the options window and proc alert window in place when selected.
  • Shout Drop Down Menu
    • Commanding Shout: Commanding Shout alerts will display if Show is also selected*
    • Battle Shout: Battle Shout alerts will display if Show is also selected*
  • Profile Drop Down Menu
    • Arms: Default alerts set to Rend, Sudden Death, Taste for Blood, Mortal Strike, and Rage Dump
    • Fury: Default alerts set to Instant Slam and Rage Dump
    • Protection: Default alerts set to Sword and Board, Vigilance, and Rage Dump
  • Battle Trance: Alerts for the proc
  • Bloodsurge: Alerts for the proc
  • Bloodthirst: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Colossus Smash: Alerts when debuff is not on the target and ability can be used
  • Demoralizing Shout: Alerts when debuff is not on the target and ability can be used
  • Execute: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Hamstring: Alerts when debuff is not on the target and ability can be used
  • Incite: Alerts for the proc
  • Mortal Strike: Alerts when Mortal Strike ability can be used
  • Low HP: Alerts when you have low health
  • Overpower: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Rage: Alerts when your Rage is high
  • Raging Blow: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Rend: Alerts when debuff is not on the target and ability can be used
  • Revenge: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Shield Slam: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Shout: Alerts when you can use a shout and you have low rage
  • Sunder: Alerts when debuff not at maximum or if it will expire
  • Thunderstruck: Alerts when you have 3 stacks of Thunderstruck
  • Thunder Clap: Alerts when debuff is not on the target and ability can be used
  • Thunder Clap: Alerts when ability can be used
  • Victory Rush: Alerts when ability can be used

All alerts can be set to any profile. This means that you can modify the default protection profile to alert on arms type abilities. The profile name is nothing more than a name.

Version 1.3.1 Shout Alerts for Low Rage

In order to use this new proc you must set the shout drop down box to either battle shout or commanding shout.

Version 1.3.0 New Option to See the Spellname as well as the Proc Icon

Thats about it. Just a new checkbox that will dictate if the spellnames are displayed along with the icons...in case you forgot what the icon's mean :)

Version 1.2.9 Stability and no Bugs!

Just a bunch of bug fixes in this version. Enjoy!!! 1.2.9b2 includes using the spell icons for the alert instead of the text boxes. In the next version, there will be a check box to give the option to show the spell name as well as the icon in the alert.

Version 1.2.8 Battle Trance, Return of intellegent Buff/Debuff Alerts

You've requested it and here it is. Battle Trance will now be one of the alerts. I don't personally use it because it is only up for less than a global cool down (thats how often warriors should be using special abilities costing rage). Also the buff/debuffs will not alert if something already covers that buff/debuff. For instance Demoralizing Shout alert will not go off if Demoralizing Roar is already on the target.

Version 1.2.6 All Warrior Abilities Now Added

I can't imageine many other abilities that could be requested. The others are more situational...situations that are pretty obvious to the player, but not a mod! Keep the requests coming...coming up, sounds and pictures of the abilities instead of text boxes.

    Hello, thanks for the complement!

I just tested it to make sure it still works.  This is the kind of thing that I don't test after each modification!

    1.  Make sure Lock is unchecked in the options menu!
    2.  Using the right mouse button, click and drag the alert to someplace new.

This just worked for me (version 1.2.9b2).  I have no idea if it will be in the new spot if you restart the game tho!  If you have any feedback, please let me know!

Great Addon! However, I am having trouble moving the proc alert window. When I have the option toggled to unlocked, the window doesn't move when I try to drag it off the side with my mouse (tried combos of right/left/alt/shift click too...) What do I need to do to actually move the window?
