WhatAreTheMats

This project has become inactive.

This project is inactive and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. The author may have abandoned it, or it may have outlived its usefulness.

Preview

WhatAreTheMats lets you easily look up the materials needed to craft something and total up how much they cost. Use /mats or /watm to show the window. You can also use the slash command to search.

Entering Material Prices

If you want to easily total up the cost of making an item, simply enter the cost of each mat. The addon will remember any prices you enter. When entering prices, use the form 12g 34s 56c. If something costs 10g, you only need to enter 10g. You can also use 12.34g to enter 12g 34s, etc.

Saved List (Favorites)

The addon can keep track of crafts you look up often. Alt+click on an item to add or remove it from your saved list. Clicking the "Saved" button will show the list.

Advanced Searching

When searching for matches, the addon will search the names of all craftable items, as well as the descriptions of consumable items (food, flasks, enchants, etc). This means if you want to find what enchant gives 15 agility but cant remember the name, you can search for 15 agility.

If you want to quickly look up the mats for multiple of one thing, you can put x10 or 10x anywhere in the search query. For example, searching for cobalt bolts x15 will pull up the mats to craft [Handful of Cobalt Bolts] with amount set to 15.

You can filter your results in different ways: by slot (s), rarity (r), item level (i), and by required level (l). Rarity, item level, and required level accept the "+" modifier.
Some examples:

s=legs

Show items that are equippable in the legs slot.

i=300+

Show items with an item level of 300 or higher.

r=epic l=85

Show epic items that require level 85 to use/equip.

These can be used in combination with each other and regular search queries.

Also, using the keyword "food" will show only food/drink items. This makes it easy to find certain kinds of food, such as haste food.

Find a Bug?

If you think you have found a bug or other problem, please let me know! This addon uses a large database, so large that I can't test it by myself. It is very likely some items are linked to the wrong craft spells (especially enchants), or some items are missing.

    I keep thinking of little things to do with it, but I'll do my best to get it up today. Also, I keep wanting to do achievements instead of work on this; I'm trying to stay ahead of some guildies. =P

    The other day I made a Chopper and also did the 500 bandages achievement, and I used this addon and it was a huge help. I'm sure you are going to love it. =D

    @AZMAK: Go

    Yes it is fully functional right now. I was actually going to add exactly what you mentioned, as well as some other things. Once I've got them done ill put it up on Curse (hopefully today or tomorrow). =)

    This seems like it will be a really helpful and nice addon. There used to be a website called "What are the materials" and it did just what this addon did, plus one other thing. It let you set a quantity and then gave a final total for every thing.

    That's what I first thought of when I saw your screenshot, that the only thing missing is a box to enter the quantity we want. Using your screenshot as an example, "weapon agil" qty = 3 and the results window will show everything x3.

    Is this fully loaded right now? I mean does it have all the recipes in game for all the professions?

    lol, gimme gimme gimme download link! lmao
