ProximoGrid
ProximoGrid
This addon combinds the best from two great addons. The configuration from grid, using status indicators where you select what you want to show, with the posibility to show opponents in the arena.
You can now add filters to the opponents buffs, their spell cast and show it as either an icon, text or a small colored square. There is built in support for plugins so it should be easy to add more indicators
or statuses.
How to use
1. When you have installed the addon and start the game for the first time you should see a test frame with 3 rows and 5 columns.
2. To open the configuration frame click the icon next to your minimap. The icon looks like Grid's icon. If you use fubar then you will find it there instead.
3. As default the test frame is visible when you are not in an arena/bg. To hide it go to ProximoGrid -> Layout -> "Frame Lock". That will hide the test frame and make it unmovable in the arena/bgs.
Set up the status and indicators
1. Open the configuration frame as described in "How to use". Then go to the "Status" expander.
2. There can you find all the settings for the statuses you want to use. So for example go to the "Health/Mana" expander. Then click on on "Health".
3. You will no see some options and one will be "Threshold". If you change that too 100% you can now always the see (in the default configuration) opponents health instead of their name.
4. None of these changes will have any effect on the test frame and is only visible when you have entered the arena/bg.
Troubleshooting
- I can't open the configuration menu.
There are 3 ways of opening the menu. First look for an icon next to your minimap. If you can't find that then if you have fubar installed look for the addon in that bar. If you still can't find it then you could try to write "/pg gui" (without the quotes) into your chat.
-I can't make the test frame disappear.
Open the configuration frame. Go to "ProximoGrid -> Layout -> Frame Lock". It should be checked to hide the frame.
-Nothing works, I can't bring up the menu and the slash command doesn't work.
Then it's most likly some conflict with your other addons. The first step to check this is to go to your Main Menu. Then Interface -> Help and then check the box "Display lua errors". When you are done with that logout and login (or write /console realodui in your chat) and see if there is no error messages. If you don't understand the error messages then try to make a comment on curse.com and I'll see if I can find the problem.
If you don't get any error messages then I'll just say as blizzard, try deleting your WTF-folder and Interface folder and try reinstalling everything. But I'll not take any responsibility for anything lost from that and I recomend making a backup before trying that.
Todo list
- Make it possible to change what should happen when you click with different buttons on the frame, like adding spell casting when you right click on an unit frame.
- Make the dynamic layout adapt the window after how many opponents there are in the arena, so you if you join a 2 on 2 it only has 2 hidden windows from the start.
- Add more indicators, I think of adding more bars and maybe icons to the corners. Any of these additional statuses can be turned off.
- Make the addon work outside arena/bgs, by removing dead or unseen people that have been gone for too long.
- Make it possible to show a main assist person.
- Add stacks and duration to the icon status.
- Fix any kind of dead, vanish and feint death so it doesn't bug the unitframes.
- Translations, but I need help from you here.
