"Buff Broker: It lets you mash butan for buffs. No matter what class you are. or what group you're in. You just mash a button and everyone gets the right buff"*

  • Quote: Psychonaut (TB)

What does it do?

Buff Broker manages your group & personal auras. Be it Blessings, Totems, Shouts, Horns, Marks, or Power Words; your Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Warrior, or Druid; Seals, armors, stances, forms, or fires; installing this addon will help match your best buffs for your group, and help keep those buffs active on you and your party.

Buff Broker is uniquely adaptable to your current party. It is friendly with other players; it will not poach their buffs (although it might poach their assignments); it will not get confused if your buffs are poached; it understands talented vs untalented buffs; it will properly suggest you upgrade from single to class/raid wide buffs. Finally, yes, it does work.

Each time you click the main button, it performs the next best suggestion (cast <spell> on target/class/raid).

update continues, 2 years later. 6.0 progress: -Starts (woo!) -Updated to latest API -Updated spellids for Warlords of Draenor spells -Added buffs from hunter pets -Updated spell groupings, including new buff types (versatility, multistrike, etc) -Paladin complete (seals disabled, until a larger form-pass can be accomplished)

Broken, next in line to fix: -Druids (talent inspection error) -Death Knights (talent inspection error)

Started the update process; Removed Totems & Auras, added Monk Legacies. Updated most spell details, and other cleanup tasks.

Some API changes are still preventing startup. I'll be playing wack-a-mole with these as time permits. Getting the addon to load is top priority, followed by all spell detail updates, and then hunter pets.

updated for client version 4.2, shouldn't have to "load out of date addons" anymore. No actual code/behavior changes required. It looks like 13 people got an in-transit version...if you're running 4.1.14, there are no differences with 4.1.13; sorry, and, please update to 4.1.15 :)

    @spiralofhope: Go

Thanks for the tip! I updated the FAQ.

I like it so far. Nice and simple.

    A suggestion for the FAQ:
How do I bind BuffBroker to my mouse wheel?

    Make two macros:

    /run CameraZoomIn(1)
    /click BuffBroker_CastSuggestionButton

    /run CameraZoomOut(1)
    /click BuffBroker_CastSuggestionButton

Use a key binding addon and bind these to your scroll wheel up/down.

2.2.9B should improve performance, but the targeting & attendance logic for raid-wide buffs is doing odd stuff. Planning to troubleshoot for 2.2.10B, then promote to release (barring other weird stuffs)

    Next planned update:
-"In Combat" casting; Last-cast spell of <configured type> will be permitted in combat. This should make it easier to cast Kings on Battle Rez targets, Refresh battle-shout, pave the way for shaman shields, etc.
-Complete separation of range-checks, suggestion-resorting, and suggestion generation (aka performance optimization)
    -Label overlay: # affected targets

Added paladin auras; fixed all reported bugs. Barring further reports, this should hit release by Tuesday.

2.2.3 should be just a tweak or two to configuration panel limit-checks, and all the shaman fixes from 2.2.2B; There should be no change to other classes in every day use compared to 2.2.1

I'm planning to tackle memory optimization next, followed by better reporting (likely via a color coded context menu). If any enterprising developers want to kick-start context menu code, I'd be more than willing to show you where to bake it in :)

If you're a shaman, this should be working with cataclysm for the first time! Some of the API calls to interact with "call of whatever' totem bars had changed. I should be using the latest version properly on cataclysm game clients.

I tested briefly in town on my Restoration shaman. Let me know if 2.1.11B gives you any trouble.
