Give Me X

Action Bar

** -- 11/10/2014 -- Please note that as of GMX 6.0.3e, I have only updated what I consider to be the core Give Me X modules in preparation for WoD. All of the items had to be updated to reflect Blizzard's "squishing" of the numbers. This required a complete overhaul of the items databases (maintained within the addon). I received a great deal of help from the addon's previous manager, GrimGrin (thanks buddy!) and also from a fan, Kronnk. Originally, the addon sorted items based on where the item was most likely obtained (conjured, dropped, or purchased). This allowed you to use items like mage biscuits before other items that were harder to come by. I fully intend to restore this functionality soon, but in an attempt to just get this addon working properly before WoD, I have omitted that function for now. Some items may unintentionally appear in the right order, others may not. Regardless, they all should appear in order by the amount of healing/mana provided. If anyone finds out of order, missing, or incorrect items please let me know so I can correct it. Please make any suggestions you may have in the comments below or send me a PM. Thanks for checking out GMX!

** -- 2012 --
I've  stopped updating GMMount and GMPet. So please delete the old folders from the interface folder GMmount already has given me some problems where I jumped off a cliff with a ground mount in a flying area. And GMpet is broken and I haven't found a fix for it. **

Welcome to the Give Me X (Formerly known as Give Me Health).

Call me lazy, but I hate swapping out food, water, potions, etc. on my action bars. This addon does that and much more. On first use, open the macro dialog (/macro). Drag the macros to the "Action Bar" buttons, replacing food, water, etc. with the macro. Upon receiving / creating new items, the macros will update automatically to show / use the best items. The macros will also update when entering certain locations. For example, entering one of the instances at Tempest Keep, the Health and Mana Potion macros will update to 'Bottled Nethergon Energy' and 'Bottled Nethergon Vapor' respectively. Battleground and Arena items update in the same way. Read on for complete individual explanations of each macro and complete details on functionality.

    HI Spacetrapper,

I will check the buff food. the addon does not check your class so it will just give the buff items in order of amount of buff. If you want agi, crit and mastery for example as your top 3 buffs, there are commands to change the first 3 buffs

for Give me Buff it is:

    • /gmb b1=agi
    • /gmb b2=crt
    • /gmb b3=mas

the same (kind) of commands are also availeble for GMBE and GMGE

with /gmb help you can see all the codes for the stats.

It would be an idea to change the addon so it would make some order of buffs depending on your class, but thats more work and I would like the get to lvl 90 some time soon =P.

Since MoP, new food and beverage are working quite well. However, some Bufffood are shone as food and not as buff. Same for beverage. Wrong Bufffood are shown. Example high lvl int food are shown for hunter, lower lvl shows correct agy food. I think, there is a mess up with some high lvl food properties.

Is there a possibility to correct those few errors manually?

    Hi Neo,

Thank you for your comment. The new release version should fix this. working on an addon is still pretty new to me When I took over from Mileg my idea was that I only had to add the items with every patch. But now I also need to learn a bit more about Lua. This lagging has always been a problem and with Cata it got very noticeable. Now in MoP it was such a problem that I had to find a solution or else I needed to end the addon. I think I got it fixed for now.

Next is to remove the 'in combat' taint.

First of all I want to say that I love this addon and recommend it to everybody I meet...its one of those quality of life addons that just makes life that much easier :)

I've been having trouble with this addon ever since downloading the newest version. I start getting massive amounts of lag as I continue to play and crafting/looting/moving items from my bank to my inventory and vice versa. I can't pin down exactly what it is because its not giving me any errors but when I disabled this addon things sped up again.

I'm not sure if you can do anything about this but I at least wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks!

There seems to be a leak of code whenever i use BankStack and this. It jumps to 3-4mb usage when i sort my bags with it. A simple garbage collection usually fixes it, but it's annoying >.<
