88 - Better organization of teams

What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

Folders/categories/filters etc for teams. With daily trainers, celestial tournament, PVP teams and the upcoming dailies in WoD, there needs to be a better way to organize the teams. Since you created Pet Journal Enhanced, perhaps you could add a flag to the teams that allows sorting in the same style so when we do the daily trainers, we can filter those teams that are flagged that way.

    +326463528645326 to having better organisation of teams... folders to group teams into would be great but most of all, being able to edit the order the teams are in would be fantastic!

    plus fixing the addon (without having to manually code it ourselves..) would be nice!

    See also ticket 69 which talks about automatically switching the current team if one exists with the same name as a targetted critter.

    I'm going to try to describe a feature I think would solve the ticket author's desire.

    • For each team
    • Implement a flag with three states: true, false, nil
    • If that team is selected
    • And a pet battle has been won
    • And that team was flagged true
    • Set that flag to false
    • Every daily quest reset
      • This is a rough description, I hope you know what I'm describing.
    • set any flags which are false back to true

    I'm not sure how the user would interact with the state. Perhaps:

    • Change the "team selected" star to be smaller, and up a little bit
    • Underneath that star is a space for this flag
    • nil displays nothing
    • true displays a yellow questionmark
    • false displays a grey checkmark

    (It might be easier to program if this new space is to the left of the team-selected star and not underneath it. Your call.)

    The user could click that space to cycle the item between the three states.

    The problem becomes how to tell the user this feature exists in the first place.

    Perhaps when hovering over the team there could be new text displayed underneath "Control-Drag to move team". Perhaps something like "Click to the left of a team to set it as a daily team".

    Came here to ask for a similar feature. I would like to see collapsible groups of teams.

    I would make a group for cele, one for Pandaria, one for WoD and open them with a Plus button depending on what I'm doing.
