With the release of WoW 4.0, RankWatch is now unneeded and obsolete. Thank you to Blizzard for eliminating spell ranks and improving the user experience for seeing what spells are available to train and when.
RankWatch will monitor the spells cast by you and other members of your party or raid and warn them if they are using a downranked spell. It will also tell you what new spells you can train each time you gain a level. While downranked spells were formerly used to save mana, this use is no longer supported, and while it is occasionally intended, the use of downranked spells is generally a mistake. Sometimes this happens when people forget to train at level 80, sometimes it happens when they spend talent points to obtain a spell which is not a base skill for the class (for example, a Death Knight's Frost Strike our Scourge Strike) but fail to train the ranks for the newly talented spell. In my experience, the most common cause is training while dual specced. For example, if you level up as a feral druid, you will train new ranks of Rejuvenation etc, but the new ranks will not appear on your bars when you change to the Resto spec. There are a few special cases - for example, Life Tap is not reported, since Life Tap is often used by warlocks to proc the Glyph and stack trinkets. See the ReadMe.txt file for a complete list. Occasionally (Anub'arak in ToC for example) healers may down rank to control the amount of healing, I suggest you simply disable the addon for this fight. If you know of other valid uses of downranked spells, please let me know. You can turn off the auto-whisper, ignore downranks from certain players, get a report of all the downranked spells seen, and of course, disable the addon completely. See the readme for details, or type /rankwatch for help.

Has the cross realm bug with /rankwatch ignore been fixed since v1.09? any way of trying to ignore them on a different realm wouldn't work.

I have to agree with Sylanur here. About 2/3 of the people I group with, including 80's, get annoyed at the spam. I've got it switched to not report to others on as many characters as I can remember, but I'd rather it default that way.

A more useful report method would be to have it whisper on command, perhaps by adding a menu entry to the group frames. Then I could tell the person that their spells are downranked and link them the report on request, somewhat as one does with Recount.

I know it's the players fault no the addon itself but it annoys me to get whispers just because I didn't go to the trainer right after lvling while questing >.< then every single time I ask the person to please turn it off to take me off the list or whatever they just call me names >.> Although I can understand the nature of the addon I KNOW when I haven't trained my low lvl characters and I don't need some addon to tell me what to do! So I'm asking to whoever is responsible for the maintenance of the addon to please make it so only users of the addon get the message because I don't want to go ignoring everyone that has it!
