Socket Master

Version 1

This project is a work in progress.  I have multiple level 80 characters which do high level raids, and I found it was becoming cumbersome to track which new pieces of gear needed gems and enchants, as well as what gems & enchants each character needed.  The purpose of this addon is to provide information about the current character's socketed gems in a easy-to-understand manner.
At first, the features will be passive for the most part....displaying information about gems in different ways.  Down the road, I'd like to add more active features such as assigning specific gem cuts to different socket colors, or shortcuts for cutting gems for jewelcrafters.

- Adds a row of boxes (similar to the Resistance boxes) to the character sheet, allowing users to quickly see how many sockets of each color are missing gems.  Hover over each box to see the number of empty sockets of that color.
- Hovering over gem summary boxes now highlights the inventory slots with sockets of that color.  The overlay's color can be configured for different values based on whether the sockets are empty or have nonmatching gems.

- allows you to search for gems based on stats
- automatically output a request for jewelcrafter by selecting a gem from your inventory and choosing from a list of available cuts
- automatically calculates the best combination of gems for your current gear and stats

Well, I still use it myself, so it's certainly not a dead project by any means. My main problem is that I'm just not real sure where I want to go with it. I know what I'd really like it to be, but honestly the "end product" I have in mind would be much simpler and more powerful being implemented as a web service, similar to wowarmory. I know the guys that wrote the Rawr program and Pawn addon have been working on something exactly like that, and from what I've seen it looks promising.

That being said, at the moment the addon "mostly sorta" works fine as it is, at least in so far as it's doing what this version was designed to do. Obviously there are a few relatively minor issues, such as it not fully recognizing the cataclysm gems. On the other hand, when a socket is missing gems, it's is indicating this; when the item no longer has empty sockets, it indicates that correctly (as far as I know). The constant log spam is about it not recognizing gems is annoying, and it's obviously a little confused about exactly how many gems it might be missing, but for the time being (and until I know exactly what direction I want to go with it) I have other projects that are much more time-consuming.

I'm open to suggestions as to any sort of functionality that would be useful with regards to upgrading, gemming, re-gemming, and tweaking multiple sets of gear across multiple toons.

I'm guessing that this won't show up if you've got another right side panel mod attached  to your character sheet. I have outfitter and it doesn't show up when I have that mod on.
