Tidy Plates: Threat Plates - Version 8.2

Comments & Tickets

  • Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

Additional Information:

  • A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

I finally found how to solve this by looking into Blizzard's implementation of their nameplates. I will fix the issue in the next release 8.2.4

Yeah, don't know why default is white. If you change tabbed color to grey and enable custom colors, tabbed units are actually displayed with grey healthbar. Just checked that on a target dummy!!!

With a default configuration, it works for me. But the default settings also is filter by whitelist which means that only auras are shown you added to the filter list.

Which filter mode is activated in your configuration? If it's whitelist, try to set it to blacklist or blacklist (mine). Does it show auras after that?

Regarding the totems: I have not idea there. I did not change anything in the last release which should have an impact on that. Did it work before 8.2.3?

If it works with blacklist, but not with any filters: would you post your filter list here or PM it to me? Then I could test if it's a sideeffect with the new filter by ID functionality.

Activating the Auras widget does basically nothing :/ It does not display any friendly or enemy auras, regardless of what option is activated. Same goes with totem hiding options: filters and icons etc (this is the most important aspect of the addon for me; the customization looks great, but sadly all totems end up being hidden even if you single out the ones you want to show). I'm using the latest ver of Threat Plates and Tidy plates. Any idea of what the issue might be?

That should work in any case. So, if you set tapped color to grey, that color should be displayed for tapped targets (unless overwritten by threat coloring).

If custom colors is not enabled, the colors default to Blizzard standard which seems not to work for tapped units. I have to look into that in more detail.

Do you know any good place to test that in Legion? There aren't a lot of situations where tapped units actually occur, I think.

I do not have custom colors enabled. If I enable it, all health bars turn white.

Do I need to Enable custom HP colors and then manually set a color for each type? :-/

You mean that the HP color changes to tapped color (e.g. grey). Do you have the threat system enabled (it overwrites tapped color if configured that way)?

Ok, I took a closer look at the sourcecode. Actually, if custom color is enabled, tapped should be used. If custom color is not used, then color defaults back to what WoW default is for that unit. And I do not know what that is for tapped units. Do you have custom color enabled?

Latest version still not changing health bar color on tapped mobs (enemy faction / >5 taps).

This is still happening for you with 8.2.2? There were LUA errors in 8.2.1 which resulted in a FPS drop because of constant errors (not shown to you if you did not have LUA errors enabled). At least that LUA errors are gone now.

Does this happen at specific locations or only when a lot of nameplates are shown or everywhere?

Since the last release (8.2.2) i m getting a HUGE FPS drop from a solid 60FPS at max settings anywhere to less than 5FPS when moving the camera. I don't know if this is caused by any specific TPTP option as far as i tried to switch OFF/ON some of them to identify the problem with no result.

    Mys specs are good enough to handle WOW and add-ons without any issue : i7 4770k / R9 290 / 16Go DDR3.
