Tidy Plates: Threat Plates - Version 8.2

Comments & Tickets

About:

  • Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Features:

  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

Commands:

  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

Additional Information:

  • A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

    Hi,

    Since the last release (8.2.2) i m getting a HUGE FPS drop from a solid 60FPS at max settings anywhere to less than 5FPS when moving the camera. I don't know if this is caused by any specific TPTP option as far as i tried to switch OFF/ON some of them to identify the problem with no result.

    Mys specs are good enough to handle WOW and add-ons without any issue : i7 4770k / R9 290 / 16Go DDR3.

    @all

    The LUA error with CombpPointWidget was a pretty dumb error on my side. It's fixed now in version 8.2.2. Also, I disabled the check for the TidyPlates version until I get it working better.

    I don't know why I did not get that LUA error.

    @briktal: Go

    It works, thanks a lot Briktal! Plates come back after enabling the Combo Points widget.

    mine just stopped working, said something like you need Tidy Plates v6.19, but there's only 6.18.10 available. although I can open /tptp config, but not seeing how that helps me.

    also, maybe it's not Threat Plates (maybe it's Tidy, or even Blizz new shenanigans), but when there's a bunch of mobs grouped up the plates start overlapping each other and I can't see half the mobs, and the most importantly the mob I'm targeting to see his cast, so I can avoid cone stun for example.

    just a huge fan of Threat Plates, and really hope to see this fixed, I can't bear the thought of using anything else for my nameplates. :)

    Same issue than cyandk also.

    I downloaded Tidy Plates 6.18.9 and Threat Plates 8.2 but nothing works and i can't even open the config window of Threat Plates as if it was lagging like hell. I can't even open it by using the /tptp command as far as i can't even press enter to send the command after typing it... No frame drop ingame though. So it seems that it's just Threat Plates that is having a major issue.

    I was having the same problem. It appears to have gone away for me if I ENABLE the Combo Point widget.

    I get this error if I look at a target with the widget DISABLED: TidyPlates_ThreatPlates\Widgets\ComboPointWidget.lua:21: attempt to call global 'DisableWatcher' (a nil value) ...TidyPlates_ThreatPlates\Widgets\ComboPointWidget.lua:21: in function `enabled' ...faceTidyPlates_ThreatPlates\Widgets\init.lua:63: in function `OnInitialize'

    Running into the same issues as Cyandk - Something doesn't seem to be working right.

    I just updated to version 8.2.1 and my nameplates no longer works and I get crazy lag spikes.

    Selecting threatplates as theme and doing a reload does not fix it.

    Using version 6.18.9 of Tidy Plates.

    @Zinodax: Go

    I didn't know that :) I did a quick research on that feature but couldn't find any API function or WoW event to track it.

    @Blacksalsify: Go

    Edit: Just wanted to add I will test your new beta version released and provide feedback if I encounter issues.

    Thank you for replying to my previous comment. I look forward to these features being implemented if possible :).

    While I'm here, I wanted to ask an additional question. Are you familiar with the new "Target Scan" Tab targeting feature which was implemented in Legion? This youtube video showcases it at the 1:00 mark:

    https://youtu.be/tYXJArQ1xqo?t=54

    I was hoping you could take a look at the API and see if it is possible for Nameplates to react if the corresponding unit is being selected by the "target scan." A custom alpha setting for the unit currently "selected" would be great and make this feature much more reliable when dealing with a pack of mobs as a tank.

    Thank you.
