Threat Plates in action.

Tidy Plates: Threat Plates v6.0

Comments & Tickets

  • Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

Additional Information:

  • A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

Is it not possible to set up more than 50 custom nameplates? Not there yet but curious because I might be soon :P

Please make a ticket here: http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/tidy-plates-threat-plates/tickets/

It'll give me a bit more information on how I can help you. You should be able to set your role however you want per spec, you must also have Threat Plates set as your theme within Tidy Plates for both specs.

Please remember the comments section here is mainly for feedback about the addon, if you're getting unexpected behavior or are receiving Lua errors please make a ticket!!

I hope this isn't a silly question, I am still new at using Threat Plates, but is there a way to make it automatically recognise 2 different specs (dual spec)? What I mean is, if I have a toon with a DPS and a tanking spec, can I use Threat Plates for both, and individually customise Threat Plates for each spec.

At the moment, I seem to be able to only have 1 Threat Plates spec. I was hoping I could set it up for both specs on the 1 toon. I see an option for Dual Spec, but I don't seem to be able to set up 2 different styles for the same character.

Hope this is the right place to ask the question. Thanks in advance.

Since the update, ive had problems with some nameplates not showing up, sticking to the screen after the target is dead and even after i have left a battleground. Im playing right now and ive got nameplates from 3 bgs ago still on my screen.

I realize this does not appear to be nostroo's issue, but it's worth saying... with new patches, it "appears" Threat no longer functions. What I have found is that the selected theme in Tidy gets changed to one of it's own themes. I remember this driving me bonkers... I kept fussing and fussing and going nowhere. I kinda stumbled on one of the Tidy prefs about themes and saw it set to default... popped up the list and bingo, there was Threat listed! Happened again with 5.4, but this time I could sort it out right quick.

Please try installing 'buggrabber' and 'bugsack' to see if you're returning any Lua issues.

What version are you using and are you trying to figure out your issue with only Tidy Plates addons and Threat Plates enabled as well?

Perhaps we should move this discussion to a ticket here:

I've used this mod in the past and loved it but I can't seem to get it to work now that I've decided to get back into the game.

My game runs great, as do all the addons I have but Threat Plates simply won't show up. Tidy Plates and all of it's default themes work perfectly but even if I disable all addons but Tidy Plates and Threat Plates, I can't get it working. I've reinstalled all my addons and run everything on default settings but when I switch to the Threat Plates theme it simply doesn't show up: there is nothing above mobs heads.

I'm not particularly familiar with LUA but this boggles my mind; I can't figure out what's wrong nor do I even have the faintest clue what could be causing this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Not entirely sure what's going on with the Tidy Plates core in regards to compatibility mode.

There's been an update to Tidy Plates so, have a peek at the new version.
