This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This project is now inactive. Blizzard provides absorb values for all units in the default API and these are currently tracked by default in Grid, which makes this addon unnecessary and out-dated.

GridStatusAbsorbs is a Grid plugin that provides the following statuses:

  • Absorbs: Damage shows the amount of incoming damage that can be absorbed by buffs, e.g., Blood Shield, Divine Aegis, Power Word: Shield, etc. The status text is one color (low color) if the total absorb is less than 25% of the unit's max health (health percent threshold), and another color (high color) if it's over that value. There is also a minimum threshold for filtering out absorb effects that are too small to be worthy to note.

GridStatusAbsorbs scans buffs and debuffs on each unit to determine the remaining absorb values.

To be lighter on resource usage, GridStatusAbsorbs intentionally does not use CLEU events, but rather uses the absorption values provided in the buffs and debuffs (seen in their tooltips) as part of the Patch 4.2 changes. Buffs and debuffs that lack this tooltip information are not supported, e.g., Guarded by the Light, Stoneclaw Totem, Protection of Ancient Kings, Incinerate Flesh, etc.
