TheEye.Addon

TheEye awakens...

...but gradually.

The current version, 0.4.1, is in alpha. This means that there are features missing and plenty of bugs to go around. When finished, it'll look something like the original WeakAura version. By participating in alpha testing, you'll help shape the future of TheEye. If you have thoughts to share, consider joining the Discord server.

TheEye is designed to be modular, meaning that you'll be able to choose what features you want to use. Right now development is focused on a thorough code refactor, meaning that there may not be updates for some time. Other features and modules will follow with continued development.

Please note that addons that are in alpha do not get synced with the Twitch addon manager. You will have to download and update files manually as new versions are released. Once the addon is in beta, files will sync with the Twitch addon manager. If you want to be alerted of updates, join the Discord server.

There's a lot of work to do. I fully intend to support TheEye into the future, so I'm taking the time I need to get it right. Your feedback and patience is appreciated.

Yours in C'Thun,

Alaror

How do I install the addon?

  1. Download the files here on CurseForge and unzip them. That'll give you a folder called "TheEyeAddon."
  2. Find the "Addons" folder in your WoW files. It can be different depending on your system, but you'll normally find that folder here: C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\.
  3. Drag TheEyeAddon folder into the Addons folder. Once you've done this the addon is "installed."
  4. If the game is running when you do this, completely exit the game and restart it.
  5. In the Addons menu in WoW you should see "TheEye.Addon" listed. This confirms the addon is installed. Make sure the checkbox next to the name is checked so it's enabled.
  6. Log into the game and enjoy! There's no setup in-game; the HUD will appear automatically when you enter combat.

Since the ingame settings aren't implemented yet, how do I move the UI?

  1. Open the following file in a text editor (Notepad is fine): TheEyeAddon\UI\Objects\UIParentGroup.lua.
  2. Find the following value: Frame > DimensionTemplate > PointSettings > offsetY = -200.
  3. Change -200 to whatever you'd like. 0 is the center of the screen, so bigger numbers will move it up the screen/smaller down the screen.
  4. If you want to change the horizontal position, copy/paste "offsetY = -200" below the one that's there now. Rename it to "offsetX" and change the value to whatever you'd like. Negative values moves it left/positive moves it right.
  5. Reload the UI by typing /reload into the chat box. You don't have to restart your game to change this value.

Since the ingame settings aren't implemented yet, how do I resize the icons?

  1. Open the following file in a text editor (Notepad is fine): TheEyeAddon\Values\DimensionTemplates.lua.
  2. For the Primary module, change the values under this.Icon.Large.
  3. For the Active module and larger icons of the Cooldown and Secondary modules, change the values under this.Icon.Medium.
  4. For the smaller icons of the Cooldown and Secondary modules, change the values under this.Icon.Small.
  5. For the Primary Module context icons, change the values under this.Icon.Context.
  6. Reload the UI by typing /reload into the chat box. You don't have to restart your game to change this value.

Since the ingame settings aren't implemented yet, how do I disable a module?

  1. Find the folder of the module you'd like to disable. Module folders are found here: TheEyeAddon\UI\Objects\HUD\. There are four module folders: Active, Cooldown, Primary, and Secondary.
  2. Open the corresponding file for the module. The name will start with the name of the module, followed by "Module" (ie, "ActiveModule.lua").
  3. Find the following value: EnabledState > ValueHandler > validKeys = { [6] = true }. Change this value to: validKeys = {}
  4. Reload the UI by typing /reload into the chat box. You don't have to restart your game to change this value.

NOTE: changes to the files will be lost with updates to the addon.
